Looking for advanced-user PS tutorials

Hey ladies.

I'm thinking of participating in a project where I probably can't use any scrapbooking tools (that is, not unless their author would agree with it) and though I'm not exactly lame at Photoshop I think I might use some knowledge improvement.

So, what, in your opinion are the best places to look for PS tutorials? For things like creating your own alphas or papers, i.e. things beyond the basic level -- more scrapbooking-kit-designer-level than scrapbooking-kit-user-level advice.

If you know some good links, I'll be very happy if you share them.

Merci.

Hey. I have been offline for a couple of days, so I couldn't reply earlier. I know about ScrappersGuide, and been wondering about it for some time, but I guess I'd prefer something for free for now. Still, I will think about it. Thanks once more.

OK, so I'd like to ask -- has anyone bought the Scrapper's Guide CDs? Are they any good? Well, I guess they are, but do they make a huge change? I'm looking beyond the basic level, but their CD is labelled "Beginner Training CD", so I'm not really sure.

My other concern is -- I took a look and I can see they're meant for PSCS3, while I'm using PSCS4. I know that's not a big deal, but still.

I'm sure there must be a place for advanced-level PSCS4 tutorials as well, and will be grateful for any other tips... I can google, but what counts for me is if somebody really points to a place where they learned themselves. I value recommendation based on experience.

I actually enjoy the free ones here. Its not just designing though. Some of it could apply. they have a search box. http://www.photoshopcafe.com/

I've also picked up Photoshop book that has some neat tricks in it.

Thankieee! It doesn't have to be just designing. I'd been a PS user for a long time before I started scrapbooking, so I'm interested in improving my knowledge in general.

I have the Scrapper's Guide training CD for Elements 8. Linda's video tutorials are excellent (that is why I recommended them). I have been using Photoshop Elements for 5 years now, so I definitely know the basics, but when I recently went through this training CD, I learned so much more. I can't speak for Photoshop though, since I haven't used the program or training CDs. Since I don't know the content, I don't know if they are what you are looking for. But I can guarantee, you will get great quality.

At the very least, I would recommend signing up for the free Scrapper's Guide newsletter. I believe it comes out once a week and it includes a tutorial for both Elements and Photoshop. I just got one today. If you PM me your email address, I will forward it to you and you can take a look.

Thanks. It's good to know that somebody found the CD helpful. I think that if, as an advanced user of Elements, you were able to learn new things, it should be the same with Photoshop.

I was just confused by the word "Beginner" in the name of the CD. Now I'm definitely giving it a thought, even though the project I wanted it for is more or less done. Still, I want to learn things, project or not! I've been a PS user for ages before I started scrapbooking and for the past year I've learned so many things thanks to the change of focus. It's always useful to learn new things.

Thanks for the kind offer - I'm alreday getting SG newsletter and so far it seems to me that the tutorials are nice

Thanks for your reply!

Since Scrapper's Guide has a 30% sale, I used it to buy the CD. I looked at 3 beyond-basic tutorials and they were great. So, thanks for the tip.
