Sushi ... do you like it?

O.k., Traci is trying to convince me to try sushi ... eeewwwww! So I am curious, do you like eating raw fish?!? Am I totally nuts like she thinks I am (personally I think she is crazy, but ya know! )? To eat or not to eat ... that is the question!

OK I have said this before....I LOVEEEE seafood!! Cooked...sauteed, grilled, fried, baked, steamed, broiled etc but it has to be cooked. So no go on sushi.

Just to tell you how bad it is my husband who loves just about everything he has ever eaten tried sushi and he HATED it. I mean he said it was the most disgusting thing he has ever tried in his life. He has tried alot of weird stuff too that alot of people would say they would never eat so for him to say it was nasty says alot and therefore I will never try it.

Sweetie - have to jump in here - not all sushi has fish, and those that have fish, it does not have to be raw!

For a long time, I was a member of the "I've never tried it, but I know I won't like it" club. Then, my friend convinced me he knew "what to order," so I went to lunch with him one day.

Oh. My. Gah. I just have to say that it was awesome! I never knew what I was missing! Now, I do admit that not all sushi is created equal, but like someone said earlier, when it's done right, it's freakin' amazing!!

Well, I am not a big seafood eater but really enjoy sushi, first mostly with tuna and salmon, meanwhile even with shrimps ( which I usually don't eat). But I have to tell you that it is important to go to a place that makes really, really good sushi, it makes THE big difference.

yeh there's vegetarian & vegan sushi.. but I haven't tried that nor have i looked for it. I like all the parts that go into veg sushi so i'm sure I wouldn't hate it.

I loooooooooove it and so does my DD who has eaten it since she was like 2 or 3.

When we ask what she wants for dinner she will typically reply, "Can we pleeeeeease have sushi?!?"

And, ditto on going to a REAL sushi place. Sushi from a deli counter in the grocery store DOES. NOT. COUNT.

Sushi does not mean raw fish. That's sashimi. There is a huge difference. I love sashimi too and will eat just the slices or the raw fish if it is extremely fresh and high grade.

There is something about the flavors of sushi with all the ingredients together, mixed with the soy sauce and the wasabi...a little pickled ginger....heaven on earth!

oh srsly...deli counter sushi...or any prepackaged sushi is just nasty..and so is buffet most of the time. Go somewhere where you can sit there and watch them make it...soooo fun!!!

My 5yo LOVES sushi too...he devours it and begs for it...

I love sushi and sashimi. My favorite though is spider rolls. Fried softshellcrab in sushi rolls. To die for! DH hates all seafood, so sushi is a very rare occurance for me these days.

I've never tried it either. I hadn't realised it doesn't necessarily come with fish/ seafood - which I really don't enjoy at all.

I'll have to look out for the vegi variety - and maybe test the fish type out on DH and DS!
