and it is the one we wanted~~
1. it is custom built to our wants
2. we got approved for $300 K which includes about $18 wwe can use towards upgrades {such as granite counter tops, gas stove, hardwood floors and a fence!!!}
3. we hopefully will be in it by July 30th~!!!
4. it is 5 bedrooms upstairs and a guest room downstairs
5. it is almost 3200 square feet!!!!

only downside, the backyard is kind of a hill :) but that really is the only sacrifice we will be making!

JUST HAD TO SHARE my excitement!!!!! :D

Angie!!! CONGRATS! I'm so excited for you! Can't wait to see the photos of it being built... did you ask for the pottery barn furniture from the photo to be included? ;)

congrats! its beautiful! but i'm soooo jealous! we can't get our dream house yet til we pay off my stupid car in about three years. :(

Lucky for us we only have 1 car payment $525 and it will be paid off in May 2011!!!! of coarse we have waited forever to buy a house, so I really really want to get what I want!!! and maybe once they start building, then I'll start buying a few things here and there :) new bathroom stuff, kids bedding, etc! will wait for the big stuff after we move {furniture and stuff :)}

wow, thats gorgeous. and omg you bought that house for 300k new??? geese, i live in the wrong country! Sydney property market is ridiculous. We paid 320k for our 3 bed, 1 bathroom 20 year old house. And that was 5 years ago, and we live like and hour and a half out of the city...the closer in you go, the closer to a million you pay. Your lucky to get anything decent anywhere now for less than 400k.

Yay Angie! I'm going through the same process myself RIGHT NOW! The builder sent in our last price request for upgrades and we hope to get our purchase agreement this coming week. It's everything I've ever wanted- about 3000 sqft, full of upgrades and on a greenbelt- and since the neighborhood is closing out, we may even get a 3 car garage thrown in!

Now I'm finishing getting my house ready and we're putting it on the market this week to- probably tomorrow if I can get it all done (the only bad part is it's SERIOUSLY cut my scrap time!)

I'm just a teacher, so we'll be house poor for about a year I imagine- but then we'll be down to one car payment and NO childcare- cha-ching! :)

It is exciting- but picking everything out too is more overwhelming than I imagined! Congrats to you- that's exciting!

this will be us in about 2 years!!! my youngest will be 3 in July, so even next fall we will only be paying for full time care for 1 child instead of 2!!! {my DD will start kindergarten in Fall 2011}~~ so I am hoping to not have a gap in pay when I retire {Jan 2011} so I plan on working as soon as I start my terminal leave from the military in Dec!!! Lucky for me I will get my retirement from the military and that will be about 70% of our house payment!!!!

that is a beautiful home. Congratulations! I'm jealous of all that square footage; it's about double what we have. :)

Congrats Angie!! We bought a NEW build townhome last March and moved in the end of July. It was so fun picking everything out and watching it get built. Take lots of pics of the process!!

Oh wow!! Congratulations... and now you've got me all jealous, that is like the house of my dreams! Ah well, I'll just keep going insane in my little three bedroom matchbox sized house - LOL!!

That's awesome Angie! My daughter misses the kindergarten cut off by 27 days- so one more year of childcare- counting down to August 2011!!! :D
It's so cool to see what houses look like in different areas of the country too. I'm excited someone else is going through this right now- it's exciting but a lot of work! We hope to get our purchase agreement this week and they'll give us our build time. Here's a link with pictures to the model I'm building :) It's crazy to think we're going to pay 250k for a house- but I guess compared to other places, that's not crazy (but to me it sounds like A LOT) I haven't taken pictures of our lot yet, but I will! ;)

Stephanie that is AWESOME!!! and I know how you feel!! $300K seems like so much money to me!!! but I know now is th etime to buy and we will definetley get what we want! I will have to commute about 45 mins to work, but we decided the sacrifice was worth it~ the house here on the Island range anywhere from $300 {on the low end} and up...and we can't find what we want size or proce range, so we just went with what we really liked!!! DH is still not so sure about this and HE was the one that picked out the house int he first place!!!!!! I am going on Friday or sooner to the showroom to pick out all the stuff! Gonna go with a girlfriend because it is too much for DH :D {he siad I'll watch the kids and you go with Maryann!!!!}

Wow what a fabulous house :) I love the way you guys do houses in the States...its soooooooooo different to what we have here in Australia both in design and price...I seriously have to move to the states lol!
