My DH is a knucklhead

So, who would have thought that my DH, who has a PhD in biology, a masters in public policy and a law degree, is actually a knucklehead? He fell for one of those pop-up "warnings" that offer to remove spyware from your computer; which of course completely infected our computer with scads of spyware.

Anyone have any good suggestions for getting rid of this stuff? Do any of the programs out there really work or do we have to do something drastic to get rid of it?

DH says do this...you may have to run it in safe mode ....so when you restart your computer, keep tapping F8 as it is rebooting, then choose (start windows in safe mode), once in safe mode run malewarebytes

that should at least get it so you can reboot in regular windows and then Matt says run maleware again HTH!

Okay no help with getting rid of it but my BIL is a well respected law partner in the area and he did the same thing. It is all book smarts and no common sense.
