Well, if we're still in Madison and it's in the budget for me to even go (DH is out of work right now), I am in!! It's only about two hours from me. :thumbup:

You Chicago girls have to figure out the location.

I've never been there. But we'll do it. DH and I've been meaning to go for a weekend to site see, with no kiddos!

Kellie, do you really think we'll get Emmy to go away for the weekend with those babies only 7 months old?? I hope so b/c driving up/in Chicago gives me the heebies jeebies so I'm going to drive over to her house and force her to drive me up. *lol*

So- when we say "you chicago girls" need to figure out a location....is there anyone that is actually in Chicago?

Where in Chicago are you thinking? Downtown = $, are we thinking more suburbs? Near the airports? Scott and I have stayed at the Hyatt Place in Schaumburg a couple times and it's really nice - has these kind of suite-ish rooms with a big couch and such.

ETA but it's not very near the airports....but wait - everyone would be driving....

Well I wanted to sign you up too, but I wasn't sure how far you live and if we have that kind of relationship yet...

No, she'll probably have to bring the babies along, and that is just fine with me because I iz NOT bringing along MY babies, so I'll have two free hands and a deep need for a girl child.

Emmy, I think it is GREAT that you are willing to plan this for us. ; ) Suburbs sounds great to me if it means less money. But we could still go into the city for the day, right?

I will probably have kids, and perhaps a DH, but they can go whatever, and I can hang with you guys.

We had our online playgroup gathering there in 05 and we had a block of hotel rooms at a reduced rate. We did the Navy Pier, a picnic in the park (I don't know which park, but we walked from the hotel...we stayed in the Holiday Inn Downtown). We did the Children's Museum too.
 
If I have the money, I could look into taking the train. I live in ND, but its about 650 miles. Google maps says 10 hours.
 
I'm just in Indianapolis, Kellie, so I'm 2 hours from Emmy and 2 1/2-ish hours from Chicago, but thank goodness we have already established that Emmy will be driving me up. :)

I can't believe that Meems and Shannon have not hit up this thread yet!

I think Schaumburg is a great idea, Emmy. We can hit up the outlet mall AND go to the city without spending city prices.
 
That's perfect Shannon - tell mimi we'll all bring sleeping bags and she just needs to move the coffee table.....:p

Kellie - you overestimate my planning abilities....:unsure: Trust me I'm no LeeAndra - I would just be lazy and say ok here's the hotel, book your own room. We'll hit Chili's or something for dinner.....perhaps someone else would do better? :D

omg!! i'd come!! Chicago is about four hours from me!!!

but i'd probably have the kids unless i could get my MIL to watch the girls, maybe i'd just have Aidan.

Something to think about. I have to go to DC the end of August...don't know if I want to travel that much, but I've always wanted to go to Chicago!
 
It depends on when in July it is, that's usually when we leave the Chicagoland area, but I'm definitely in if we're around!
 
Count me in!! I'll most likely have a dh and kidlets with me because I won't drive 6 hours by myself... but they can always go find something fun to do.

Haaaaa! What? Then I would have to clean or something. And as much as I loves you all, I don't do cleaning. Also my house is tiny.

But I am up for Chicago or suburbs, of course.

Why is Kellie going to be in Chicago (or even the US) in July?
 
I could possibly go! I am about 3 hours from there...so it would just depend on when it is and if you guys would want me and my whole family. :D :D I don't go anywhere without them! LMBO!
