question about facebook?

Im wondering is it possible to block a person from seeing that you are online to message you or seeing certain stuff you post but not completely block them from seeing everything? In other words there are a few people (two actually) who are on my friendslist while I do not want to remove them from my friendslist (they are family members) I just want to set it so they cannot tell what Im doing on there all the time.
 
Go into your settings and profile info; in each place where you can set it to friends or friends of friends, it will also say custom. Choose that then type the person's name in the box. That should do it.
 
You can also create a new list down there w/ your chat options under the "Friends List" heading. Put that one person in your new "avoid" list, then drag the little slider to the left of the list name all the way to the right (offline). :)

YW! I had a friend who was constantly getting "chatted" by this guy at our church that she barely knew and didn't want to chat with (he was married too; he never was inappropriate, but it was just weird). So she was trying to figure out how to just make it look to him like she was offline. I just posted the question as my status update and got the answer for her! Sneaky! :)
 
LOL yea...mine is from someone who likes to create alot of drama and I just doont want to deal with it but I dont want to delete her because then she will be like oh why did you delete me yada yada yada
 
You can also go into your Privacy Settings and Click on the Profile Information and select Posts By Me. There is a selection of Friends Except... and you can list their names there. That way, your updates, etc don't automatically go to them... they can see them if they actively go to your page, but you don't call attention to yourself on their updates. Kind of "out of sight, out of mind!"
 
Thanks so much for that tip Kresta! I have a situation similar to your friend and so I always keep myself offline unless I need to chat with someone and go looking for them. lol This is great! :)

I have exactly the same problem. I really cant stand my husbands cousin. Shes just one petty drama after another and it drives me insane. But i cant very well just delete her - i dont want to start a family situation over stupid facebook! lol. I did what Kresta suggested - tho i called it my "stalker" list. lol. Facebook is so much better now! i can talk to my friends without getting messages from her every 5 mins. :thumbup:
