What are your Two Year Old Boys playing with

Sweet Shoppe SugarBabe
and loving.

I hate that Cooper's birthday is just 2 months after Christmas. I have really no idea what to get him. A Yoda stuffed animal is the only thing I can think of right now. I like to shop early, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

What did your boys get for Christmas they love?

When Avery was 2 he was completely into Thomas Trains..like that's ALL he wanted to play with..he got the train table for Christmas when he was 2...he's about stopped playing with them now at 4 1/2 but I'd say we got 2 solid years of play out of them.

Hmm... lemme think back...

Connor loved those shake'n'go cars. You just give them a good shake and they take off across the floor.

He also LOVED duplo blocks, but I'm sure you have plenty of those around.

Oh, and those pop-up tent things! Connor had a spider-man one that he almost LIVED in when he was 2-3.

Good luck! I can't believe Cooper's already TWO!!

I know, I can't either. :(

I'll have to look for those cars. He'd love those. We have the Quatro blocks, I've been thinking about getting the duplo ones, my MIL has some at her house and they love them.

He got a train table for Christmas, maybe I'll get him a new train.

THanks Nikki.

My little man will be turning 2 at the end of Feb. so I am right there with you! His favorite thing right now is the magna doodle and a car ramp thingy that has three ramps and the cars race down it.

I will be watching this thread for ideas.

a tent was one of the most awesome things our boys played with from about 2.5+. They still do it if we pull it out.

Duplo blogs were huge. The PreK star wars toys were a big hit since they fit in little guys hands. We're big Star Wars fans, so it's ingrained lol. Little People was probably the favorite toy. And if I let him the 6yo will still get it out and play with it for hours.

This is a good time for playdough, too, and there are lots and lots of cute kits out.

toilet paper rolls.....errr...you mean like REAL toys? ;)

he has a little balloon rocket and pump he's been playing with nonstop....
playdoh and anything else his big brother has :P

he also got a tool bench that he's really into

My little guy will be 2 in april so this is a good post for me to watch too!

Right now he really loves the Little People sets - we've got the barn, animalville, a fire station, and a car garage/ramp.

Yeah,we have tons of little people. They were kind of an obsession when our daughter was little. LOL! I might get him the pirate ship one.

My little guy is 18 months. He loves Little People stuff, we have a ton of it (DD has lots of them that got passed on to him). He is crazy about Thomas and got a train table for Christmas, with lots of tracks and lots of trains. Everything that comes from his mouth is "train, train train". He's a little obsessed! Other things that he loves are wooden blocks - anything he can stack and then knock over! He has also really taken to playing with DD's kitchen recently, and loves having tea parties with her :D

My 2 year old received some Black and Decker battery operated children tools. They also have a Black and Decker workbench that they all love. :)

Oh, yes!! Connor got a Dirt Devil working vacuum for his 2nd b-day and he LOVED it. It even came with a little dust buster as well! SO cute and he loved it!

Thomas the Train (the boys got a train table for Christmas but had several train sets prior)
Imaginext stuff
Lego Duplo sets (they still play with Megas too)
Mini Cars..cars and a floor rug that has roads all over it
Work shop tools
guitar
trucks
Elefun
puzzles
Pop up Mac tent (from CARS)

and a few other things that they have had
horse on stick and dress up clothes
easel
Mr. Potato Head

Callan is almost 2.5 and he got Thomas the Train stuff for Christmas. He has played with it every day since then - HUGE hit! The other thing that he loves is the Black & Decker tool bench and tools that he got for his birthday in September. A couple of the tools are "power tools" and have batteries so they really run like daddy's. He loves those the best. Other than that, it's tractors and trucks for him. :)

Kyle's big things right now are dinosaurs and horses so he got lots of both for Christmas and has been playing with them nonstop since. He's also into Toy Story, Spiderman, Cars (we have the shake n go ones) and he also likes both the Duplo blocks and Little People toys. His 3rd birthday is coming up in May and we are thinking about getting him the Handy Manny tool bench and tools/tool box, he played with a similar one at a party recently and loved it!

My son is almost 3 and this past year he's played with Geo Trax (train set) and Hot Wheels almost exclusively. He got a kitchen for Christmas and plays with that a lot as well.

Logan turned 2 in October and he loves the Shake n Go cars, the new Little People car track (that goes/spins automatically), and puzzles. We have a few peg puzzles that he really likes, so he got a new set for Christmas (from Target).

Oh and my mom got him this little ride-on toy... http://www.radioflyer.com/products/rideon/777.asp
We LOVE IT! It has wheels like an office car, so it turns and spins and is so fast! It's also realy sturdy, so my 5 and 8 year old can both "ride" it without any problems!

Umm... let me remember (you know, this would be a good scrapbook page to do!)... kiddo will be 3 in March, so this is what he was excited about this past year... my child is on the path to be an engineer so he tends to go for the analytical toys

puzzles, can't get enough of them
fruits and veggies that you can "cut"... held together by velcro
stacking cups (a little young, but kiddo still LOVES them)
Step 2 kitchen
books, books and more books
little laptop from vtech
any electronic toy from vtech that does alphabet things
peg board
lacing toys... big beads that go on to a string
Cozy Coupe car
pound a ball toy
bathtub toys
tent and tunnel
race track for his cars
shopping cart
cash register
anything to put something in... boxes, bags, etc.

This Christmas he got a toy grill... HUGE hit... even Caroline (friend of the family who will be 2 in Feb LOVED it)

My goodness my son has a lot of stuff!!! Can you tell he is an only child?

Can someone link me up to these shake & go cars? I know Cooper would love those, I've never seen them before.

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies!

Lucas loves trains and puzzles! Those wooden melissa & doug ones are a hit with him he also has this sort of shape stacker thing from melissa & doug that he really likes too..

I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE OUR BOYS ARE ALMOST TWO!

Do the LP!! DS's are 4 & 6 and I see the time very soon that they are too old for the LP, and that makes me sad!! I love those chubby little guys!!

Shake and go cars are great, basic track and a couple of cars is all you need and they really can do it themselves within a week or two!

Mine still prefer the quattro blocks to the duplo because they make bigger stacks and knock down more, so I'd probably leave that "special" for grandmas.

And yes trains...trains...trains...books, videos, toys. I love them too though! Good thing I'm a boys mama!

Well you know I'm in the same boat.....G's is in like 3 weeks :( Anywho he got this for Christmas ans LOVES it!!!

I got them both at WalMart, the fire station was $16 bucks and the car set was $10. I don't like the Shake N Go racers cause they are LOUD and annoying!!! We have this one (Liam got it several years ago for Christmas):

Not sure if they make toddler ones but G can't work this one, it's to big for his hands and he cant "shake it" hard enough to make it go!!!
