Did anyone else get an email about a security warning? and then when I tried to go to my acct. it wouldn't let me access it? It's telling me I need to recreate a password? I don't know whether to believe it or not..but i can't get into FB at all
 
I did not get an email, no.
That sounds fishy though. I might wait a bit to try accessing it again. And don't go there using the link in the email, (if there was a link in the email).
 
yea what Col said...when you get an email like that you should always type out the address in your browser. Im not really sure why someone would want to hack a facebook account though but hope yu can get it figured out.
 
I tried just going to facebook but I'm getting a screen telling me that my acct has been suspended b/c of suspicious activity and that I need to complete a security check and reset my password...since I'm going directly to the website do you think I should do that? I can't get into my account at all with my old password.
 
Mine seems to be ok, but a friend of mine posted this in his status...

Woke up to an email from Ebay notifying me of my changed username & password. A Very Merry Christmas goes out to my HACKERS: IP Address: 116.235.242.76 ISP Host: 116.235.242.76 Remember to change those passwords Facebook Friends :)
 
Okay..so if I go to facebook itself by typing in the address and I'm getting the security check info..should I go ahead with that?
 
Facebook has this tendency to suspend accounts at random for no real reason. If that's the case here, it could take several days for it to be reinstated. A friend recently received a similar e-mail and when she contacted FB about it they said she was TOO active, posting too often, etc. It took nearly two weeks for her account to be reinstated. :(

TOO active? I might be in trouble LOL
 
I got one of these a few weeks ago and reset it. Everything has been fine since then.


I should say that when I reset it I got back in immediately.
 
Glad you got it fixed Nikki. Typing it in and still getting the security issue meant it was legit.

I actually just changed a bunch of passwords recently. I've had some of them the same for YEARS. Such bad practice.
 
I got the same email this morning. I went ahead and changed everything. I also changed all my other passwords on other sites too just to be safe.
 
I definitely have them written down for a month or so after I change them, which is also not good. But I also figure that if someone can break into my building at work (we have little pass key thingies to get in), find my cubicle, get into the locked desk drawer, and then find the small post it note that it's written on....well....they win. LOL! I can only do so much.
