Photo Book Question

So I may be the last person who has never got a photo book from Shutterfly or wherever (see I don't even know any other places to get them)...my question is when you do your pages for your photo book do you do you use the same kit for each 2 pages...will it look totally off if you use different kits for each page...I've only seem examples using a kit for 2 pages and I totally like the idea...The deal is I want to print one for my son's 1st year of preschool but I used so many different kits I'm wondering is it going to look funky....I hope that makes sense....

I printed an album form Inkubook.com and all of my pages were different and it does not look bad at all...but I really like the idea of doing 2 page spreads {even if the photos aren't from the same event} so that I can print them together :) I am doing this for a Disney album and I can't wait to see how they come out!

I'll be honest, for my personal books & family's books, I don't make sure they match! I did one as a gift for my pastor's daughter when I did her SR pictures, and I tried to make the whole book match as far as color scheme, but not all the same kit. I just finished a book for a friend of mine and I did make sure to use the same kit for each 2 page spread. It looks good! But, it won't look bad if they don't match, I promise! :)

None of my spreads match in my regular paper scrapbooks, so I don't usually bother to do it for my digi ones (not that I've even printed one yet.....I'm working on it....)

Depends on what I'm scapping... I did a highlight of my sons first's... and that I did all matchy as I did with my prego books... but my "everyday" albums don't match... I think it's a personal preference, like Sara said...

I have pages that match and pages that don't, and the mix is totally fine in the book.
Here's a two-page spread in a Shutterfly book...

Then printed in the book:

The thing to remember about 2-page spreads if you choose to print a book is to overlap the middle a little bit. Otherwise you'll lose some middle content in the gutter of the book.

When I do my year in review books I just grab layouts I've made and put them in the book and don't worry about them matching. However, when I did the cruise book for my in-laws for Christmas last year I used the same kit for both pages. It was a challenge to make sure everything would print and match up with the middle seam.

I think the books look great either way! Have fun making your book!
Check out Arts Cow for some good prices - they often have coupons for free books and/or free shipping. Just keep in mind they ship from Hong Kong, so it takes a little longer to get your stuff.

My personal ones are not 2 page spreads, but I have done a wedding album and that I made a 2 page spread. I just thought it would be more elegant for a wedding one.

I love the ones that match but I am never that organize. I just make sure when I put together the book that they at lease match somewhat in color. I try to put a page with pink background next to another page with pink background and so on.

thanks...i think i was a little confusing when i asked my question...i meant if you use the same kit twice so the pages that face match (like vanessa said...lol...)...

i also try to match pages even if it's not from the same event. same paper, or sometimes 1-2 same elements.
