Help! Mom question....

I was hoping someone might have an idea or two for me. Julian is about to turn 18 months old and has recently begun rubbing food in his hair at every meal. It's not a huge deal at dinner time because all the kids get a bath after dinner but he does it at breakfast and lunch too so he often walks around with food in his hair most of the day LOL! He's my youngest and the only one to ever do this.

Sounds like he needs a burr cut (can't remember the real name of it)...where all you have to do is take a washrag to his almost bare scalp and it's clean. lol At least until he gets past that stage? Had 3 boys...didn't have that happen...so no other advice...sorry.
 
I feel your pain. Mya does this and it drives me nuts. We do what La said and just try to redirect her, but she's pretty determined. We tried playing 'dress up' before dinner, putting paper hats on her and then letting her wear them to the dinner table. That worked for about three days, lol. Her hair is pain to wash/brush too. Wish I had more help for you.
 
JP used to do the same thing. I finally had to put a hat on him since his father was totally unwilling to let me shave his head at the time (of course, these days his hair style is pretty much always a buzz cut). Anyway, I got a cute baseball cap for his huge noggin and rigged it to tie under his chin. After a couple weeks, he stopped trying to put his hands near his head and the hat went away.
 
does he like to eat? With my youngest, he liked to eat but he would try to throw food. So if he threw any food, I just took away ALL the food from his highchair. That would really upset him. LOL I'd give him a couple minutes of no food then give it back with the warning that he can't throw food. A week of doing that cured his throwing. Maybe the same would work for you?
 
You already know that I have the same problem. I've been sitting right next to Madelyn lately so that when she's "done," and starts to do it I can take the food away from her. Hopefully he stops soon!!
 
Mine always threw his food. He would do it when he was still eating even. I don't even remember what I did, but he eventually stopped. lol
 
Lilly does the same thing, she throws food, puts it in her hair...and then keeps eating. I take her food away and give it to her a piece at a time for a while. I am still don't have good solution. :(
