Hubby just told me about an impromptu party at our house...

I'm not a big cook or entertainer, so what should I make for this party at our house tomorrow that I JUST found out about? Eeek! It's my husband's friends, mostly guys and about 10-15 people, coming over to eat, watch UFC... you know, total guy stuff...
I was thinking the easy stuff like queso, 7 layer dip, maybe order some wings? But if anyone has any EASY ideas or recipes, please share!

I get home from 8 hours at Six Flags with both kids and grandma in 103 degree heat--all I want to do is sleep and relax this weekend. Well, instead today I'm going up to work at school (even though the portable is still in two pieces and so I don't had a classroom yet). Then I get the news we're hosting this party, so I've got to hit the store, figure out what to make and pick up the stuff that accumulated in the house while I was out of town...

ug...so sorry! They just think about the fun, right? They don't think about all the work that goes in to making it fun!

Our grocery store has a whole section of already made dips, entrees, etc. I would go pick up some dips and wings, put them on platters from home, and get out of their way! I know it's a bit more expensive, but sometimes it's worth it to be done!

PW just recently posted a chicken wings recipe that I'm dying to try. And it seems easy enough too. Lemme pull it up.

Hot and Sweet Drumsticks. Prep time is only 10 minutes, they cook in the oven for 40. Easy enough to do up quick and then let them cook while you do last minute toy pickup ;) I'm actually planning on making these myself this weekend.

Chips and dips are always a good idea for UFC sorta things. 7 layer dip and queso are perfect. If you have a Hooters near you, their wings are FANTASTIC. If you wanna make the dip then order out the wings. Just make it easy on yourself!!

That's so funny, I was just going to suggest these. I made them on Monday and they were really easy and good.

you could do a cheese/meat platter with crackers. I cant remember which company makes them but in our grocery store they have them already made up with cheese and like salami and pepperoni or something similar. Or you could make subs which is pretty simple...just meat cheese and lettuce/tomatoes and have condiments available. Wings are good too but really messy. Our local store has the most awesome hot wings. They can be dipped for a little extra, like maybe a dollar extra? Theyre like 9.00 for 30 wings I think? The store is called Publix which I think is only in the southern states so dont know if there is one near you but I love their wings. Walmart also does wings which are fairly good and fairly inexpensive. Hooters and other wing places are alot more expensive and not much better in my opinion. Deviled eggs are good snack foods too.

My dh pulled this ONE TIME on me very early in our marriage...I was so pissed! I work all week and go to school full time nights and spend all weekend studying. I had a test coming up on Monday if I remember right. I left and did my homework elsewhere.

He had to clean up the apartment, go grocery shopping, fix the food, and entertain the people...I had absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

It was the best thing I could have done! We have been married 25 years and he NEVER pulled that on me again!!

...and when I came home one of my friends asked what was up...so I told her... (I didn't even know she was invited or I would have given her a heads up) ... she said GOOD FOR YOU! ...and whispered...that was the worst spaghetti I have ever had in my entire life! lol

....so I don't have any advice for you...unless you don't want him to ever do that again... ;)
