if you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose to live? I am so sick of Florida anywhere would be a welcomed change. I know Id probably be homesick after awhile so maybe I just need a vacation LOL but if I could live anywhere Id say it would be West Virginia, Tennessee, Alaska or Australia. Maybe not in that particular order.

probably up near Seattle, since my dad lives there and I'd love to be closer so I could take care of him.

But, if that wasn't a factor, then I'd live in/around San Diego. I lived there as a kid and LOVED it. Or a Caribbean Island would be pretty cool too.

I just want to get far far away from any large city. Preferably up in the mountains. Ive lived here my whole life and Im so tired of the heat, noise, mosquitos etc etc. Hey a Carribean island sounds nice if I can have it all to myself LOL

San Diego is pretty nice but too much of a city for me plus I'm worried about California falling into the ocean one day. I'd love Hawaii but it's so expensive. I would have to say that I love NH other than the winter. I think maybe Bermuda, I've heard it's a great place to live and you can only live there if you have permission so it sounds like they keep the bad stuff out! :)

New Zealand. Seriously. Nowhere in New Zealand are you more than 200kms from the sea. We don't have snakes or big spiders, bears, foxes, wolves, wild cats etc. We don't have any poisonous sea life. You can go into the forests here (of which there is plenty) without a worry that some animal will creep up on you or kill you. We have pretty good weather, awesome mountains and beaches, and everyone is pretty laid back. And we're completely nuclear free.

Even if I didn't already live here, I'd choose New Zealand hands down.

I agree, New Zealand would be fab.

I live in Minnesota now, and we basically live here because this is where our families are and we want to be near them while our kids are young. Pre-kids, we lived in Boise, Idaho and loved the milder weather, outdoors activities and the feel of a smaller city.

I'd live in Vancouver, Canada between March & early October (Thanksgiving) then New Zealand between mid October & March so I would miss winter in both places pretty much

I've lived in the midwest my WHOLE life and I absolutely would LOVE to move somewhere...different.

Anywhere on the east coast is my dream.

I vote for Ashville North Carolina area... I've never been, but seen photos and it looks beautiful!

I don't think I could pick a specific city/town to live in. Ideally, I want to make enough money between Jordan and myself to own a house in the mountains of Colorado, and another one on a beach somewhere, like the gulf coast of FL or maybe South Carolina. (I am well aware that this dream is quite far fetched, but that's why it's a dream :p) Eventually we'll either move to Pittsburgh, or stay in this area (despite HATING Baltimore) but buy a big lot in the country and build a home on it.

Now internationally, I will find out this fall on our honeymoon :p But I think I would love Italy or France. The history that surrounds Europe fascinates me, and I would love to be able to pick up and go to some historic site any weekend I pleased. I really hope that sometime we'll get to vacation to New Zealand and Australia. It was just too expensive for us to swing for our honeymoon like we wanted.

We have been thinking seriously of emigrating to Canada for sometime - paperwork submitted already, infact!

...though having read what Jacinda wrote, I think we should consider NZ instead :)

Somewhere back home in the Pacific Northwest. Outside Portland probably. We actually kind of have to consider this in 8 more years since DH will be retiring from the AF then. It seems like a long time off, but it has gone by so fast so far!

Colorado sounds nice too. Ireland and Germany would both also be nice for me too.

Col there are affordable places still here in Florida. Honestly I dont know how much places are on the west coast but I know over on the eastern coast where I live (Im a good ways outside of orlando but still about 15 miles from the water) they are not that badly priced especially right now. My sister lives in Lakeland which is not a long ways from the water and I know her and her boyfriend didnt pay a ton of money for their place.

Yea Jordan's aunt has a condo in Ft Meyers/Naples (we used it the week he took me down there and proposed on Captiva Island at sunset ). I wouldn't mind doing something like that, we're just not at a place now where we could.

Part of the problem is that I would love to live somewhere rural (like bfe western MD where Jordan's parents are), but due to the nature of my job, that's practically impossible. My market is geared towards larger cities. Where we're at right now, even though we hate Baltimore (have I mentioned that before? :p) is perfect. In a few years we could move to a lot and build a house and "live" in the country, but still be close enough to work that I could make it work. Our commute is 45 minutes right now, and there's plenty of space near us so there's a lot of potential.

We're good where we are right now, but we've got a lot to think about for the future. :)

Right now..anywhere it's not 105 degrees in the shade :)

We sat near a couple from Northern California the other night at a resturant and they were talking to us about how hot it is in MS and the lady said, "well you are in a heat wave right now right?" DH and I just laughed "umm..nope that's just Summer in the South ma'am lol"

Anywhere that doesn't hit 100 degrees. Somewhere up in the New England area would be delightful! Or on the other side in Oregon or Washington.

My husbands family all live where you are. They all live near Chesapeake Bay I think he said. He said he would never move back because he cant stand the winters there compared to down here LOL

i honestly LOVE where i am now! fort collins, co. perfect weather, amazing schools, loads of outdoor activities, no crime and no SMOG! i just love it! however, i would love to live in a place with a much slower pace of life, somewhere like ireland.

LOL never been there but I know it has been so darn hot down here in florida!! The other night it was 90 degrees at 11:30 at night!! Now that is HOT!!

I would live in England. and then we'd move to New Zealand for awhile, and then on to Colorado, the east coast (American history buff), and then to the Pacific NW (including Alaska), and then Japan, and then we'll probably run out of life and be dead :)

(had to edt in all the places I want to live and travel to. Can't be just one.)

I guess I am pretty happy where I live right now, only the rain....

I would love to live in a country where life isn't such a ratrace as it's here in Holland and where people treat eachother with respect, where ever that is :)

Monique, good luck on that quest! When you find that place, please let me know :)

Winters here are miserable. It rarely snows, and I LOVE the snow. I miss my NY winters. Jordan's parents are up in the mountains, so they get TONS of snow, and we get nothing. It sucks, lol.

I've been there and it is spectacular. So gorgeous!!!

I'd have to say an island, Scotland, the mtns of Colorado or Washington state.

actually, i'm quite content in the midwest. i love having 4 distinct seasons.... but i loathe hot weather, so i'm definitely not dreaming of somewhere tropical. :p temps over 75 make me cranky. yes, we get much warmer than that but it doesn't last long enough to make me want to move or anything. we're in a fab suburb with like no crime. the schools rock. we have a park around the corner. family isn't super close, but i prefer it that way. :D seriously though, they're close enough that we can do a day trip and visit them... but far enough away that they're not all up in my space. LOL

My parents and sister and brother lived in Japan for awhile. My dad was a photographer for the Air Force. He took lots of pictures (might explain my love of photography I guess) anyhow it is absolutely beautiful there from the pictures I saw. Of course that was like 40 years ago so Im sure it is quite different now

I dream of finding that place too!! It used to be that way where I live years ago but Orlando has sprawled so far out east it is becoming more and more liek the city everyday!!
where people treat eachother with respect, where ever that is :)

Right where I do!

I love West Virginia...

I love living in a small town where I know 8 out of every 10 people that I pass on the road. Driving so far for good shopping stinks, but I'm a pro at shopping online and Pittsburgh is only a 2 hour drive.

I love having four seasons and getting to look forward to all of them: the cool mornings in the spring, hot temps of the summer, gorgeous leaves in the fall, and snow in the winter.

I really love it here. I also loved living in Blacksburg, VA when I was in school there - but it's a very similar atmosphere.

If I could take my entire family with me-I would go to California-northern Cali-but if I can't then I wanna stay right here-close to the people I love the most in the world.

Wow sounds like a dream place! So.........what DO you have that would make someone hesitate? Tornadoes (oh wait, we have those)...volcanoes?... hurricanes? ... giant locusts?

I was kinda thinking Florida. We had such a wonderful vacation. I just don't know about those aligators I hear coming into people's yards...but maybe they live by the swamp??? It probably happens just as often as you think Kansas Citians have horses in their back yards and ride on up to the corral each day. :)

I kinda like Kansas City...winters are not bad...we seem to never (knock on wood) get more than 3" at most of snow and it melts within a few days. This Summer has been hotter earlier than before (a bit on the muggy side)...it usually doesn't top 100 until close to mid July....but heat index last week was 105-110. Tornadoes...lived here since 1970 and only saw ONE from home...and it was way off in the distance....and that was back (knock on wood) in the 70's. ...although we do end up under "watches" a lot and a couple of warnings a year...but so far nothing close to home really.

awwww come on sure you dont wanna trade places for a little while and come live in Orlando? West Virginia really is my top location to relocate to!! I *almost* had my husband convinced to move there like two years ago but he wants to wait until the kids are all out of school so we have like 6 or 7 more years :-(
