4th of July Cupcakes

Bakerella also did these for Father's Day but how fun would they be for the 4th too! I'm thinking I'm gonna make them because the kids would just have so much fun!

She even includes a template for the paper goodies, click on the pic to go to the blog entry to download them!

Not exactly cupcakes, but I thought they were cute...

Have you ever seen those cakes that are a whole bunch of cupcakes stuck together and then frosted on top to make a design? Im not sure I could find an image like what I mean but basically you take the cupcakes and put them in a line right next to each other. I was thinking if you did that you could make it into the american flag

something like this:

My neighbor made those Bakerella Cake Pops and WOW they were CUTE, BUT....she said to get you a piece of styrofoam to stick the pops in while the first coat of chocolate is drying.....and I can't wait to try those brownies....oh sooo cute too!

I'm having a backyard wedding this weekend for my son (he called last week and informed me he was crashing our July 4th BBQ), soooo, I need some fun things to make.

I love the Bakerella site! Its gone straight into my 'favourites'.

...you know, if icing/ frosting is not one of your strenghths, you could make your usual muffin recipe, dust with a little icing/ confectioners sugar and then decorate with 'personalised' cocktail sticks - just print out flags, stars etc and stick onto the stick, et voila!

Yeah, that styrofoam is a must. And they turn out so cute, but holy moly - they are so much work!! Lately I've been making the regular cake balls instead of the mini cupcakes to cut down on the time I spend on them. I think I spent like 5 hours on the cupcake ones. :cursing: LOL. I love Bakerella!

these are cute too. Looks like she used white cake and then blue and red food coloring to chance the color of each cup cake !! Super cute!!

LOL. this is why I've never made them. I always look at the recipe and think, ok so you bake a whole cake and then . . . WHAT? I still have to do all those other steps?

I love the rainbow cupcakes - but all those colour E numbers! Won't you end up with head-spinning little monsters for the afternoon?

...still they look very pretty and it is a special occasion :)

I think I am going to do a variety because I can't choose! I was already planning on doing the marshmallows and can't wait to see how that goes. LOL!

My kiddos and I tried the hamburger cupcakes...it was fun and not too labor intensive! We made the sugar cookie fries, too.

here's a pic...I linked the pic to my blog where I have the paper tray and the fry holder as a freebie!
