So a few of you girls know how agonized I was about this whole camera ordeal. :blink: Well, I finally was able to go get one and I got the Canon XS. :thumbup: It's perfect for me and I already have insane amounts of guilt for spending so much so I am glad I didn't go bigger! I would probably be passed out! lol

I am super excited though and I can't wait to get used to it and start really playing! So thanks for all your help girls!!!!!!
 
Aww congrats Crystal!! Once you start taking those pictures and seeing the resutls your guilt will FLY out the window.....I PROMISE!!!!

So when do you get it!?!?! Did you just get the kit lens or did you "upgrade"!?!?! I can not wait to see your pictures!!!!!

Elizabeth, I got the kit lens and I got the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras. I got it at best buy yesterday because they had a special. I am super excited, but I haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet, lol! I am super sick so I just ran to a couple stores to grab it yesterday and haven't done much since. lol!
 
does he work at best buy?!

I will say that we had some major trouble there with their system and we might end up paying for the camera twice. Have to wait 3 days to see. :(

WOOT WOOT!!! The 75-300mm is the Tamron lens I just got and posted those pictures from!!! You will LOVE IT!!!!! I can not wait for you to have a chance to PLAY!!!

Boo on the maybe paying twice...I'm crossing everything that it works out for you!!!!
 
Wahoo! You are gonna love it! Did you get the warentey thing (honestly if I could spell that word, it would be a miracle)? Its a good deal, they will replace it if you drop it and it breaks. Well worth it IMO.
 
I have the XS too and I love it. Once I can finally afford better lenses for it - you prolly won't be able to separate me from it!
 
Good for you Crystal! I am sure that guilt will pass soon enough! ;)

I need a new camera too, my rebel is now 6 years old and starting to act up. I am looking at the Canon T1i because of the video capability but I also want the 40D so I'm not sure yet.
 
Oh congrats! I just got the same package on Monday. It's so intimidating. Can't wait to see your new pics!

Great pics, Crystal! Now just switch that puppy into manual and SHOOT!! Learn as you go--it's the BEST way!

Psst....I always shoot in "P"!!! ;) Very rarely do I venture into manual with my little ones...there is just NO TIME!!! If I'm just out shooting in my yard (fooling around) I'll go into manual, but that's it!!!!
