Alexis fell of the bed today. She's been really fighting taking naps lately so I put her on my bed with me where she fell asleep. I didn't want to move her because I was worried she would wake up but put some pillows around so she wouldn't fall. I had a monitor on which is very sensitive so I was sure I would hear her as soon as she woke up. Well she didn't make a sound and went on exploring the bed. She doesn't crawl yet but pushes herself forward and that's how she got to the edge. I have a little side table and I think she was trying to get the stuff on there when she fell off. I heard a thump and a cry, I made it up there within seconds, she was between the bed and side table. Thank God she is OK, I am still shaking and feel like a terrible mother. Man, I will never leave her on the bed again.

Don't beat yourself up...accidents happen and at least she's okay right?

When Avery was 2 he climbed out of his crib for the first time at naptime one day...I wasn't sure what to do exactly at the time, so I put him back in his crib, walked out the door and before I got down the hall I heard a thud and a blood curdling scream...he'd climbed right back out, fell on his arm and BROKE IT! So yeah...I felt all kinds of guilty about that...I STILL feel guilty about that. I bought a crib tent the next day so he couldn't climb out and fall again and it will go on Miss Ella's crib as soon as she starts pulling up...so be glad she's okay lol :)

It happened to my daughter too. She was ok but I know what you mean about the guilt. Don't beat yourself up over it

AWW! Poor thing! I am glad she's ok though! don't beat yourself up sweetie! :( This happened to Gabriel when he was a baby too. I felt awful, but accidents do happen. HUGS!

It happened to my sister with her first child. She had eaten lunch in her bedroom and laid my nephew on the bed after feeding him. She did not know he was rolling and went to go to the bathroom. He rolled right off the bed onto the plate she left next to the bed from her lunch. It was a hard ceramic styled plate and it broke and cut his head.

Ouch, that sounds awful.
