If she was my daughter...

she would either be spanked or have her mouth taped shut. Give me one good reason why Max can't come to the pajama party. You are being mean to your brother Ruby.

Ok- what cartoon character do you want to discipline?

Max and Ruby bother me, but I want to reach through the screen and strangle Calliou. That kid is a whiner to the max!

I also don't love Angelina Ballerina. She's a whiner too and she's bossy.

Where are their parents is my question!

I want to slap that silly speech impediment off Ming Ming's mouth! LOL
Caillou is also banned from our house because a certain 3 year old started whining too much.

LOL! We don't typically watch Max and Ruby, but today the TV is on and we just watched that episode! I will say that lady that is making brownie scramblers should have her food license taken away. ick! Take leftover food bits from a child and make them into a drink.

The absolute WORST show is Noddy. Hate it! But I agree with the whining on Angelina too. I'm not a fan of nearly any of the shows on the Sprout evening show. Why doesn't Sprout pick better shows?!

I always wonder where Max and Ruby's parents are.. I mean seriously, those kids do everything by themselves!

Oh my goodness, DH and I have talked that to death LOL! Grandma's around here and there, but no parents. Ruby needs a good kick in the fanny IMO.

We've never seen Caillou, and after seeing this thread, we won't anytime soon. I think we'll stick with Word World, Fireman Sam (she LOVES that show), Thomas, and Bob.

LOL, Austin just watched that episode this morning.

See, and I totally give it to her because she is having to parent her brother- I think she is doing a pretty dang good job!

And how saaaaadddd is it that we all have given this subject this much thought??? LOL!!!! Glad to know it isn't just me!

Amen!!! I teach special needs preschoolers and my new program focuses on language delays-- its amazing how many kids imitate the characters so at the very least, let's give them some good language models to watch! :)

My 5 year old likes spongebob--- and was playing the Sorry boardgame (spongebob version from grandma) and says "Can't you go be stupid somewhere else?" To which I say "What was that?!" I go to look and yeah... it's written on the Sorry card... he was just reading. Eek!

Ruby grates my nerves. Dora's parents are never around either...so Max and Ruby aren't the only ones. And Steve/Joe is a bachelor who talks to inanimate objects. Top that.

Cailou or however u spell that whiny brat's name. Add Angelina Ballerina too. :cursing:

And why can't Elmo use proper grammar and speak in a "big boy" voice! He's the most popular character on the show, so why can't he model good language?

But I do think Ming Ming is cute... :o

I can't tell you how many times, while the girls are watching Max and Ruby, I have under my breath said.."wow, way to be condescending Ruby"...parenting him or not, she needs a serious attitude adjustment.

Calliou is the same...the song says it all "growing up is not so tough, 'cept when I've had enough"...and I love the Grandmother's intro to each ep..."Calliou was feeling overwhelmed"...Get used to it Calliou...that's life.

I want to shake Ruby. Poor Max. Calliou drives me nuts, but my kids LOVE him. Noddy gives me the creeps.

I had to ban Max & Ruby and Caillou when Riley was little because she started talking like them and it drove me bonkers!

I can't stand Ed, Edd & Eddie or The Cramp Twins!!! I don't let my girls watch them either.

As far as Ming-Ming goes (and I will say that I prefer Tuck LOL), this is what wiki says (although never can tell if it's correct or not)...

Ming-Ming is voiced by Danica Lee in the United States version (Khloe Fry in the UK Version). When Lee auditioned for the role, she pronounced "R" and "L" sounds as "W" sounds (as in "This is Se-wious!" and "wearn to fwy"). The producers said that Lee's speech impediment had an endearing quality and that young children commonly mispronounce certain sounds.

Know what I want to know?

Does Caillou have alopecia or something? Why isn't this serious issue addressed? He's like 4 years old... he should have at least like some Charlie Brown hairs.... wth. For the love of God, apparently his NAME is like a cutesy way of saying Bald Head in French...

Mean parents... mean mean cracked out parents.

We only watch PlayHouse Disney. So I don't know many of these shows. The did have Bunnytown for a while and that show was HORRID! Ugh, it drove me nuts. They would randomly shout UNDERWEAR! Like I want my kid doing that. Luckily, Nicholas hated the show. lol I like Charlie and Lola, but I do get annoyed with how Lola is such a baby and Charlie is forever giving in to her. Like when she spends all her money at the zoo so he gives her his. He does love Thomas though and I don't much like that one. He's really boring and they bricked one of the trains into a tunnel for a month because he was scared. WTH? But for the most part Nicholas loves the ones that I think are really good, Mickey Mouse Club House, Tigger & Pooh, Little Einsteins, Jojo and Handy Manny.

awww... I  Handy Manny. And Little Einsteins. And Jo Jo! My kids hardly ever watch Playhouse Disney and I really miss those shows. They are so cute!!

ive never seen most of these because my kids are a little older

When they were little though they all loved Rugrats and I could not stand Angelica on that show. She was soooo bad!! Luckily she was not on every single show. I kinda loved Chuckie though. He was the cutest LOL

OMG, Chuckie with his perpetually stuffy nose? I loved him too. The rest of the show annoyed me. The parents were AWFUL!!

Man you make me laugh!!!!!!!!! :D

My son did that! He thought is was absolutely hilarious. I was so glad when they stopped airing it here. It looks like it will return this summer . I let my son pick between PBS and Playhouse Disney and the TV goes off at lunchtime so I don't know many of these shows either. Handy Manny, Thomas, Franny's Feet and Super Why are favorites around here. Jamin used to get up to watch Jay Jay the Jet Plane, but he hasn't done that in awhile. I kind of miss Jay Jay.

Well, that's great. My kid who didn't pronounce words wrong before she watched, now does...Love it!

Annie, DH ALWAYS has said that. I had to read him what you said and he died laughing. He said, "FINALLY, someone else thinks that too!" :p

Sid The Science Kid on PBS ranks up there, too. But let's not forget that some strange purple worms are growing out of his head, so that could totally contribute to his stupidity. ACK! That show makes me cringe!
