I am not.. nor have I ever been.. Jose Santiago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stop calling my house!! I swear, a zillion messages a day, from all different places.. looking for mr jose. thankfully my house phone is permanently off the hook lol.. but all my voicemails go to my email.. One day, there will actually be a message for ME :p
 
I hate that...the way to get them to stop calling is to tell them you are contacting an attorney for harassment and that so and so does not live there. We had someone calling here for someone who doesnt live here and doesnt have that number. After telling them that the last time I have not received another call from them.
 
Back at the turn of the century (HA! I've always wanted to say that, LOL!), my husband had a small business with an 800 number. There was this church (or church-like substance) giving away a book called "The Power of Living" and it had OUR 800 number on the TV ads. We would get calls at all hours of the day and night from people wanting this book. Finally, Dan put a message on our answering machine saying that we DID NOT have said book. One woman, before hanging up, was having a conversation with some other person in her room saying "He says there is no book. That's false advertising!" We contacted the company several times and it wasn't until my husband threatened to call an attorney did they finally pull the ads of TV.

We get phone calls from people either looking for Bob or Robin Cox. Half the time the people looking for Bob end up saying "He just gave me his business card yesterday with this number on it!".

I dunno what crack Bob is on, but I'd like to kick him in the Cox. ;)

ETA: We've had this number for 5 years and it's STILL happening.
 
I hate that too La! I've had someone calling here for a Jordan Evans and every time I tell them that this hasn't been his number for at least three years because it's been mine, I get threatened. Apparently there is a parole officer looking for this guy and he thinks I'm hiding him. LOL
 
That is SO annoying!

We haven't had a home phone for like 5 years now but back when we did we constantly got calls from Asian people at all hours of the day & night. We'd answer the phone and they'd be talking away in a language we couldn't understand and we'd try to tell them they had the wrong number and they just didn't understand at all. They'd even leave long messages on our answering machine even though it said you've reached the Taylor's!
 
That's so annoying! If I were you, I would call these people and tell them they have the wrong number. Then, if they keep calling you, you can threaten them with legal action. lol

I have this problem too... and when one company started calling everyday at least once a day, I got really annoyed (especially when every representative I talked to told me they would be remove the number from their system). I started asking for a supervisor and I got hung up on! After a couple times of this I called them back (their number did show up on my caller ID). I informed them, that they were harassing me and if I received one more call, I would be turning them into the Better Business Bureau. I haven't received another call from that company.
 
I totally understand - On Tuesday I had 8 phone calls for the pharmacy and 4 for the horse centre and we have had this phone number for 13 years
 
Oh I guess we all had this problem at least one in the life time.
I grew up in a very small town with just one area code (775) but at some point we add a new one (774) and my telephone and the one from a local radio station were the same, but I had the traditional area code, and the radio station had the new one.

I got a gazillion call for request and dedication songs... LOL
At the end I just say... ok, I'll put your son in 10 minutes... LOL
 
Does that drive you crazy. We got one once for my MIL, she moved and they couldn't contact her so they started looking for people with the same last name, so since MIL & I don't get along at all and being the nice person that I am, I gave them her cell phone number. She really appreciated that :)
