You know what sucks is, my grandparents use to live in the Everglades, on the gulf side, and I'd go visit and people would always ask me where I'm from and I'd say Florida and they'd look at me like I was crazy because of my accent.

People always tell me now I didn't know people from Florida talked like that. Well, hello, it is in the south. LOL! Drives me nuts.

It's funny because I was born and raised in Missouri where everyone has such a hick accent but I don't think I have one AT ALL, and it really stumps me.

LOL I had a friend who lived up north in Mass. who swears I have a southern accent. One thing I always get teased for saying is that Im fixin' to go somewhere or fixin' to do something. I think the reason why people do not think of Florida as southern is because so many people move here from other places...Id say it isnt what you would think of as southern I guess but there are defenitely small country towns and probably more small towns then big cities!! My sister lives in Winter Haven and used to live in Lakeland and her boyfriend has such a bad accent and as far as I know lived in Florida all his life. She says alot of people over there talk like that

I actually live right in between Lakeland and Winter Haven and was born and raised in Lakeland and I never think I sound southern. I do have friends from Michigan though that make fun of my accent.
 
I took a video, but it was awful! I think between the kids yelling in the background and the fact that I was trying not to scream at them it just didn't go well, lo! I will try again after bedtime!;)

lol...I am always "fixin to" do something...like in a minute I'm fixin to get these youngins to bed so I can think straight lol :)

Sean's grandpa use to have a place in Lakeland before he passed away.

I used my point and shoot camera. I can't figure out how to get video from my actual video camera to the internet. LOL!
