Not wanting to get into all the details right now we have just found out that my Daddy has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma......his prognosis is good as far as we know but he is having a spinal tap on Friday, then a CT scan on Monday that will help determine his course of treatment. I know it is a very treatable cancer but I am still scared and sad.

I am sorry to hear that Christine. I hope that any treatments he gets are successful and symptomless.

Thanks so much ladies...I knew I could count on you to lift my spirits a bit, I really REALLY appreciate it {{hugs}}

Wow honey I will absolutely be thinking of you as well, big hugs!!! Lots of prayers coming your way!

(((hugs))) to you! My mom was diagnosed with non-follicular mixed T-cell non-Hodgkins lymphoma 10 years ago next month, and has now been cancer-free for 9 years. Unfortunately, that type of cancer runs in our family. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or just need to vent.

Prayers and thoughts going out to him and you and the rest of the family.

If he needs some other support to help him through, he can check out www.cancer.org and check out some of the connections there (there's a Patient Navigator to help him through what to expect in the process, I Can Cope which is an educational program, and other resources).

Thanks so much, I may just do that....I really appreciate it :)

Thanks so much for the info...I have the site bookmarked but have not really looked through everything yet...so much information to absorb KWIM?

One important link (and I know you're going to feel overwhelmed, sorry!) is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I can't say enough good things about them. Aside from information and counseling, they do offer some financial support. It's not alot in comparison to the cost of care, but it can be a HUGE help.

If I may be so bold as to ask, what part of the country/globe is your dad in?

Yes, I am just looking for some time to sit and really read a lot of this stuff...we are unfortunately going out of town this weekend so I know I will have a lot to do next week. But at least by then we will hopefully have more information that will be helpful instead of reading about stuff that may or may not apply to him. And we are just outside of Chicago, Illinois in the NW suburbs.
