the power of love is a curious thing?

can make one man weep, make another man sing...

it can even change a hawk to a little white dove.

did you know this?

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAH i love huey and his news.

oh and i might just save your life.

just so you know.

caaaaan you feel it?

If this is it

Please let me know

If this ain't love you'd better let me know

If this is it

I want to know

If this ain't love baby, just say so

I LOVE Huey Lewis!! :) Back in high school I went to one of his concerts and totally loved it. He was like the only guy with a horn section in his band and it makes all his songs just so cool!

I want a new drug

One that won't make me sick

One that won't make me crash my car

Or make me feel three feet thick

I want a new drug

One that won't hurt my head

One that won't make my mouth too dry

Or make my eyes too red

One that won't make me nervous

Wondering what to do

One that makes me feel like I feel when I'm with youuuuuuuuuu

When I'm alone with you

SIGH

Ooooh a sing-along ...

I used to be a renegade

I used to fool around

but I couldn't take the punishment

and had to settle down

Now I'm playing it real straight

and yes I cut my hair

You might think I'm crazy

but I don't even care

Because I can tell what's going on

It's hip to be square

Weve had some fun, and yes we've had our ups and downs
Been down that rocky road, but here we are, still around
We thought about someone else, but neither one took the bait
We thought about breaking up, but now we know its much too late
We are bound by all the rest
Like the same phone number
All the same friends
And the same address

Yes, its true, (yes its true) I am happy to be stuck with you
Yes, its true, (yes its true) Im so happy to be stuck with you
cause I can see, (I can see) that you're happy to be stuck with me

New York, New York, is everything they say
And no place that I'd rather be
Where else can you do a half a million things
All at a quarter to three
When they play their, ooh that modern music
They like it with a lot of style
But it's still that same old back beat rhythm
That really drives 'em wild

They say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what I've seen I believe 'em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll is still beating

We saw an interview with him on his ranch. The interviewer stayed there for the weekend and fly fished and cooked with him. A very down to earth guy!

I  me some Huey Lewis! I got to see him on New Year's Eve in San Francisco one year. HE ROCKED THE HOUSE!!!!! Talk about the best! Now to go listen to him on iTunes

And something that is close to my heart:

Somedays won't end ever and somedays pass on by,
I'll be working here forever, at least until I die.
Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't
I'm supposed to get a raise week, you know damn well I won't.

I have to join in...

I was walkin' down a one-way street
Just a-lookin' for someone to meet
One woman who was lookin' or a man

Now I'm hopin' (hopin') that the feeling is right
And I'm wonderin' if you'll stay for the night
So I'm comin' (I don't want to be lonely baby, please tell me)
I wanna love you all over

Do you believe in love?
Do you believe it's true?
Do you believe in love?
Oh, you're makin' believe it too

awww... I ♥ Huey Lewis. Reminds me of my daddy. I grew up listening to the BEST music because of my dad. And HL was one of his faves.

Your dad sounds like my Dad - he was an avid (and eclectic) music fan and Huey Lewis was one of his favorites, too. Them and Steely Dan and Billy Joel. I always think of him when I hear any of them play. And I credit my eclectic taste in music to him.

ROFL I love it! The Power of Love is the ringtone on my phone right now. Takes me back to Michael J. Fox (my first crush ever) and Back to the Future every time my phone rings. :p

I love it too! I saw them as part of a 4th of July celebration about 10 years ago or so and it was SO fun! (Although I could tell that some of the younger 19-20 year olds were like - who are they?)

Don't take money, don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
Tougher than diamonds and stronger than steel
You won't feel nothin til you feel

You feel the power - just feel the power of love.

Woot!!!

ETA... not that the 19-20 year olds were much younger than I was 10 years ago... :)
