This is Amazing! If you have little ones....

I got this in an email the other day & it's so cool! I plan on doing this w/my kids...whenever I have them! lol
 
It's a great idea, but I don't have a pool near us. I was surprised to see how many instructors there are that are close to my area though.

I'm one that wanted to pick the baby up also.
 
I had to fast forward to the end just to see the baby's parent come. I couldn't take it! Wow. *LOL* I wish there was something up here but I can only find ISR classes in the states. My kids are starting swimming lessons this spring, I guess that's the second best option.
 
That video was so painful for me to watch till the very end. This is my worst nightmare. We have a pool and it has a fence around it, but it still scares the crap out of me. I am starting Sophie in Swimming lessons in April, I think they teach this too.

My parents have two different lily pond, one in the front and one in the back yard.
When Landen was two he fell into the one in the back yard and I literally FROZE-Like ice with a scream that my dad said was like no other sound that he has ever heard in his life. I can vaguely remember Landen rolling over about 3 times trying to fight his way out before my dad jumped in and pulled him up out of the water, I promise neither one were smiling like the end result in the video.
A very interesting concept to say the least.
 
WOW! That is totally awesome!

My oldest is really careful around water, but my youngest is a fool. He will step off the edge, and when I pull him up, he laughs and tries to wiggle back into the water. I don't know what I'mm going to do with him.
 
That is amazing to me! I am blown away by that little baby! He is adorable, and just lies there, breathing, he looks so relaxed like he could just fall asleep in there LOL!

Rae fell into Mom's pool the summer before last, and mom's fiance jumped in and scooped her out, didn't scare her a bit LOL. I wish mom lived closer to me, so the kids could enjoy it more and have more time in the water, as there's no pool here. I was just grateful that we all were so close that nothing bad would happen, but I love this idea!

I had to attend a funeral for a 15-month-old that fell in a pond in the family's yard - the family was building a house, the mom thought the dad was watching her, the dad thought the mom was watching her...she wandered off and fell in the pond. Knowing something like this could have saved her life, maybe...though it was so cold they think her body went into shock and then she drowned. I couldn't even imagine what those parents went through...
 
I've looked for this program in the past for my girls but they don't have one near us. I am a FREAK with my kids around water (well honestly I am a freak about anything to do with safety) I've spent too many years working in the ER not to be.
 
I've seen that before. My middle daughter could have used that training last summer. We have a pool in our yard (above ground) and she was TERRIFIED of going near it. The other 3 kids would go in no problem but if you even suggested she go in she would freak out.

That's all because when she was 3 1/2 we were living outside of Pittsburgh and used to go to this park (Brady's Run for people in the area) and play in the creek. Well one day she fell in the deep section. It was one of those moments where time just seems to freeze yet happen all to fast at the same time. My husband was standing feet from her but was holding our newborn daughter. I was too far away and holding the camera. For a second I thought my son was going to jump in and try to save her. Problem was he was only 4 1/2 at the time and couldn't swim either. Finally my husband got over the shock and pulled her out (almost falling in with the baby in the process).
My daughter has been terrified of deep water ever since then (she was fine with shallow water and sprinklers though).

I didn't think we would ever get her in the pool then finally last year she tried the arm floaties and became a pool baby. She was 5 1/2 and was suddenly begging us to go in every day, lol.

But none of my kids really know how to swim. My oldest is almost 9 and sort of can. My son can touch in our pool and swim under water for a bit but if they fell in really deep water both would probably drown.
 
How amazing! I couldn't stand to watch the video- I wanted to jump in and grab the little guy out of the water-

but wow! I'm very interested in this! I don't have a pool, but I have a 3 yo and one on the way, and it's always better to be safe than sorry!

You never know when a skill like that is needed- and even if the situation never arises that it's needed- at least it's there just in case! :thumbup:
 
Ok, on one hand that is awesome video. Other hand it scared the crap out of me and all I wanted to do was bawl and rip the baby out of the water!! We live in AZ and loose children to water deaths ALL THE TIME and all year round. During the summer it is like a stat counter on the news. It is horrible.
