i remember like it was yesterday when my dad came home from a business trip with little gifties for sarah and i. he got down on his knees, hands behind his back and said..."k...come here girls i have something for you...now, who is my little PB lover" and i shouted..."me me me daddy"!! then he said, "and who is my little Jelly girl"...and sarah shouted out "me me daddy"! then he gave us the cutest little dollies. mine had red hair and was wearing a brown little bonnet and dress and her name was PB and the other was a cute little blonde headed dollie with a purple hat and bonnet named jelly.

so that's my sweet little story for the day.

if you could only have one on your sandwich, which would you pick?

of course you know my answer.

awwww.... sweet daddy stories!!

If I had to choose one, it would be PB because just plain Jelly is yucky. But, of course, the BEST choice is PB & Jelly.

eta: I still have a postcard that my daddy sent me from Japan while he was on a business trip when I was four. It says that he misses me and that he hopes I'm helping mommy take care of baby sister. "Baby Sister" is now 25 years old. lol

well I hate peanut butter, so... Jelly. I will eat pb&j's but the layer of pb has to be fairly thin.

My daddy story...he was in the Army so he'd go to the field, and as early as age four I remember my mom flashing her fingers to add up to the days before he came back (10+10+2)....when I was five he he went to Crete, Greece, and brought me back these adorable grecian dolls. I still have them.

PB all the way!

oh and i thought of this cause my dad made me a piece of toast with strawberry jam on it for lunch. awwww. (i work with my dad for those of you out of the loop there...i don't live at home. LOL!)

I love peanut butter on plain bread but on toast I like to have jam or preserves (I dont really like jelly because its to watery and sugary)

My dad brought back a lot of really cool dolls too Lena. We finally got rid of them a few years ago, but I had a beautiful Spanish Dancer from Spain (duh), a little Dutch Girl from Holland (little wooden shoes and everything!), a geisha doll from Japan, and some others that I can't remember.

*sigh* I  my daddy....

But you said you're the PB girl..... :p

I regularly eat peanut butter sandwiches at work.
I'm 26. :p

i've come to appreciate jelly. :D esp on a nice thick piece of toasted whole wheat bread! although if jelly disappeared from planet earth, i wouldn't care. PB on the other hand...that would be the apocalypse.

I have no sweet daddy stories. :(
But I do love peanut butter. I like it with chocolate. I like it with fluff. I like it with jelly. On graham crackers. On toast. On a spoon. On celery. In cookies. I catually sent Kelloggs a suggestion to make peanut butter pop tarts. I just LOVE peanut butter.

I don't like either so call me an alien, but YUCK!

My boys on the other hand are like this:
DH=Crunchy PB & Jelly with crust
DS1= Creamy PB only with crust
DS2= Creamy PB & jelly with no crust

Ditto! Yum PB poptarts would be awesome!!!

I'm an alien, but only because "it depends on my mood" was not an option.

My Daddy saved my life. I do not remember it, but the story has been told so often that I know it by heart.

When I was four years old, I had a bad case of strep throat. My Dad (who wasn't yet my dad, he'd only been dating my mom for a few months at this point) came by the house after work one day. My mom and brother weren't home yet, so Grammy let him know that I was in my room sleeping off strep throat. Well, as the story goes, Dad was knocked back by the smell coming from my room. He called Grammy in and said, "There's something really wrong here. Call her doctor." He then scooped me up, put me in the car and drove me to the ER. It turns out that the strep had started to attack my kidneys, and that if he hadn't come in when he did, worst case scenario was that I wouldn't have made it through the night. Best case: kidney transplant.

I know that sound like something any parent is supposed to do, but for my dad it was above and beyond. I mean, he'd only known me for a few months, I wasn't his daughter, and he has serious issue being around sick people. For him to even come into my room was major. I love my daddy.

PB please! :) I don't like jam/jelly...except if I'm having a bagel with cream cheese, then I like a light layer of strawberry jam (without seeds) on top.

WORD! I  me some PB!

My daddy didn't go on business trips - he worked in a grocery store his whole life. But, I do have a sweet daddy story. We lived in a one-story house, with all the bedrooms off of one long hall. My bedroom was at the end of the hall. My daddy would pick me up and say "One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready and four to GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Then he would run down the hall with me and throw me into my bed.

I  my daddy (and I'm 44 years old!)

 love this story!!!

Just so you know, Fizz, I made a PBJ sammich for breakfast today (and an extra for dinner if I have to stay superlate at work tonight) all 'cause of this thread. :)

Your work on Earth is now complete. :p

Peanut Butter all the way! I can eat peanut butter right out of the jar but will only eat certain flavors of jelly and it has to be on toast, an english muffin or with a pb sandwich!

Oh my gosh what a lovely story!

I'm new here BTW I'm Sophie. My happiest memories of my Dad are all before I was 6 and my parents split. He used to play cricket in the garden with me and it's still the only sport I can bear to play :)

Oh and PB ;) xxx
