I find this funny mostly because I had jury duty in Dec. and I totally forgot until like the 2nd week in Jan. I had no clue what to do. I told DH and he was like well we will just wait and see what happens. So far I have not been jumped by 50 SWAT guys! At least here in AZ, Sherrif Jo Arpiao hands out pink underwear and pink striped jump suits. I'll look wayy better in those!

Poor Liz. Well, I can tell you one thing - I highly doubt you are going to fined or jailed. I served for Jury Duty and I remember 3 people didn't show up. Two of them forgot and they showed up later (like 4 hours late) because they kept calling them and calling them. The third...well, she was ticked off (cussing at them over the phone and all) and was refusing to show up. They drove out to where she was and picked her up and brought her to the courthouse. No fines, probably could have been jailed if she refused to go after they showed up at her door (or work, or wherever she was) because it was police officers that went to get her. But she sure enough walked through the door VERY VERY pissed off. What a day that was. So even with a woman that stubborn getting away with what she did I'm sure your all good!

see sometimes...they won't get you right away...they'll tell you it's ok...and then, one day you are walking through Macy's, shopping for some new Coach boots...and BAM!!! You are surrounded by 50 SWAT Team officers...like down from the ceiling and stuff...and that's it..jail for you. Without Coach boots. :thumbdown:

They'll just reschedule you. If you don't want to do it, just don't call them or reply at all. That way, they don't know if you ever received it or not. I always call for myself, and have served on a jury once, but for my 21 year old...I don't respond. I used to, and even has his doctor send a letter to get him off, but now I just don't answer back. They'll send another one next year. He is bipolar, doesn't drive, is on medication, we aren't on a bus route, etc...There is NO way I'm driving him there and waiting all day for him. I could have the doctor ask for him to be excused again, but it isn't worth the effort. They'll send him another one next year again.
