To blow himself up. Literally. Apparently my ever so smart hubby decided it would be a good idea to put a paint can (spray paint) in front of the SPACE HEATER in the garage to warm it up a little so he could paint. Well, dumbass forgot about it and like 20 minutes later the paint can exploded, lodged itself in the ceiling of the garage, blew down our garage door and had a small fire in the garage.

I tell ya, for a firefighter, he is brilliant sometimes!!!

Then he goes on to tell me that he usually just holds the paint can there with his hand for a couple of minutes instead of sitting it there. Um, he won't be doing that anymore!!!

I can't wait to see the repair bill for this one......................and, no, he's fine. Thankfully he wasn't hurt. A little shaken but not hurt.

WOW! Well, he'll probably be using that as an example in 'home safety' sessions from now on! I am glad he is ok. A little more excitement than you needed, huh?

O.M.G! I am so glad he did not get hurt but my goodness, sometimes they just don't use any common sense!

LOL!!! I'm still laughing at him even though I know it could have been real serious! So, the new garage door = $752, hole in ceiling, paint all over the garage, a little "sunburn" to his face = Priceless...

I thought he was kidding me the first time he called me and told me... then I got scared, then I got mad.... I'm so glad he's okay though!!!

Oh, I'm so glad he's ok, but I had to LOL at the fact that he's a firefighter! Sometimes its the "experts" that make the biggest mistakes!

I have one of those too Kat.
My husband is a firefighter. ANd he frequently does stupid things. Let me tell you about the time he filled a can full of deisel in the back of the truck bed. Then we were getting off the highway and there was a seat belt check. Imagine my surprise when the trooper noticed the road flares in the back seat. Luckily, DH's last job was as a State police dispatcher. SO we were not investigated by homeland security as possible terrorists.
Luckily he wasn't hurt. What was he spray painting? Tell me it was his leather.... That has been my DH's pet project this week

LOL Heather! No, he was painting parts for his 1941/42 Army Truck that he's restoring. Sure did ruin the day for him...

I am never going to let this one go. Derrick asked if we were building a fire tonight and I said "No, I think dad's had enough fire for one day. He might burn the house down if he tries to light one."

DH didn't think it was very funny... And of course I have been sworn to never tell anyone from the FD...

Aw! I can't wait to hear you after the next fire department function. I can bet you will be laughing hysterically about it. I know I would tell everyone, just for fun!!!
