Anyone making Resolutions for the new year?

I try every year, but always fail. So I don't know if I will make any this year except to try and make 2009 a better year than 2008. Maybe keeping it general will be more attainable for me.

I think I might have to set my New Year's Resolution to not making one for 2009....LOL No, maybe it is to get my daughter married off....I told her if she'd stop turning those stinkin' rocks over she'd find someone decent....Ha,ha

Yup, just one this year. I posted about it on my blog tonight. I'm trying to get back into reading again- choosing one "educational" and one "pleasure" reading book to finish each month. I'm really excited about it! :)

I am resolving to get healthier this year. Not necessarily a weight loss goal, but I figure if I exercise and eat properly, then the weight loss will come with it. I just want to not feel so tired, so lazy, and so out of shape.

I am also resolving to take more pictures of me, or allowing more pictures of me. I'm in hiding since I gained all this weight, but I want my kids to see me in their memories too, kwim? I am also resolving on that end to take more video of the kids, not just pictures.

Finally, I'm resolving to let go of the people in my life that bring me down, bring me sadness and bring me anxiety. I feel I want to focus on my kids, and those people in their lives that really do love them, and really want to spend time with them. Not just those who say they do, then act like we don't exist, or hold on to grudges from years ago, that are only imaginary anyway!

That's it, that's probably a lot. But it's things I need to do, if I want to stay sane. I'm losing my mind over here, and need to pull myself out of my depression. I think these things will help.

I decided today that I *need* to stop biting my nails. I'm a grown woman with ugly, chewed up fingers and its about time I stop! Cameron bites his nails too and I know its from watching me. So, thats my resolution. Its gonna be tough to break a 27-year habit.

On the today show they talked about how many people make a general resolution to lose weight. And because its general they have a hard time sticking to it. SO they said that its best to be specific, but to also make your goal attainable. They were talking about weight loss resolutions, but I'm sure it applies to any other kind of resolution you might make. So be specific, but make it attainable. And probably a resolution that is measurable. Like say a scrapping goal of 75 layouts next year. Or say you want to keep the house cleaner, don't just say keep the house cleaner, say I will vacuum x number of times a week and or month? Or something along those lines. Ok, I've babbled way to long on this! lol

Several years ago I resolved to not make any more resolutions. It's the only resolution I've ever kept, so I'm sticking to not making more, lol!

OMG...that is Britney's resolution too!! LOL.

I am kinda wrapping all the things starting together. I was thinking about Ali Edwards' One Little Word project, and about resolutions, and about turning 30 and this is what I have come up with:

This year I want to believe. I want to believe that I am making a difference, that I can be successful, that I can create a fulfilling life for me and my family.
So my word is believe, and it's kinda my resolution too.

Mine last year was to hit 500 layouts...which I think I have done...and spend more time with my boys...and since I am homeschooling now...I think I hit that resolution on the head too! lol

Mine will be to hit 500 layouts again!

ok maybe i need to be more specific with my resolutions because i never seem to follow thru with any of the general resolutions...

The reading one reminded me of something I've been thinking about. I want to get back to playing the piano regularly. For the last 16 years since my boys were born, I really only play at Christmas. But I don't want to give up my nails...so maybe I just won't play well. ;)

I like the specific stuff idea (after I said I was only going to make a general one!), especially about cleaning the house. I will have to think on that one.

I've resolved to take the treadmill out of it's current "slimline storage" option and actually use it again in 2009. I've been slacking for the last 2 months or so and I need to get back to it. I actually like me the way I am but I "felt" better when I was walking so I want to get back into the routine - no more Chex Muddy Buddies would probably be a good one to tack onto this. (BLAST that damned easy to make and delicious snack!)

I've also resolved to be more active here in the public forums and actively seek ways to make SSD sweeter and more successful in 2009 than ever!

Happy New Year!

My resolution is to only use my camera in manual mode. I KNOW how, but I just don't trust myself not to mess it up, so I only do it when I feel like I have the time. I figure if I make myself do it all the time, I will learn to trust myself a little more with it. I get waaaay better shots when I do!

I met mine from last year...to lose the excess baby weight from 2 back to back pregnancies....lost over 80 lbs.

This year I would like to be a better wife and not be so crabby! Continue to eat healthy and try to exercise more!! I also would like to try and scrapbook enough to finish 2008 (so I can go back and work on 2007 b/c I skipped it)

I dont make them cuz if I know I need to change something I dont want to wait until the New Year to do it. I may procrastinate it or drag my feet but I just make the changes/resolutions right away. So I have made a few through out this last year and most of them involve self growth, learning from mistakes etc.

I have a few that I would love to keep, losing the baby weight is gonna be a big one this year! I have seriously gained a lot of weight so far ick! I also want to be more organized and we are trying to buy our first house so while thats not so much a resolution its def a goal :)

I have two. Eat healthier and get caught up in scrappin. The eat healthier part is more on a family level. I can't follow through if everyone else is eating crap. That is my plan any way.

I love your's Aaron!

Hmmm, I'm not really sure. I've been thinking a lot about it. Of course I want to get back to losing weight and hopefully reach my goal this year. As for other resolutions... I haven't decided... maybe it should be "no more procrastinating". ROFL
