Additional RAM... does it help?

My lappy has 1G of RAM and can hold another 1G. I'm thinking of adding it but wonder if it really helps. Anybody do this lately?
 
My old laptop has 1GB in it and it could stand to use another. This one I have now has 3 (but it runs Vista) and it's at a good amount.
 
I can't even figure out how to get my lappy open to see if I can add more. I only have 1 gig right now. Maybe I should take it to my dad (who is a computer guru)...
 
more RAM is always a good thing as long as your mb/processor can handle it. If you've got space for 1 more gig...do it - especially with Vista
 
Yep, def. add it. I have 2G in mine and it runs fine but it ran like crap w/ 1 gig. One of the few things I hate about Vista. :D
 
Kat... go HERE and find your model in the menu. It will tell you how much your computer came with and how much more you can ad.
 
I agree, it will definitely help! If you have a machine that is compatible with the RAM sold in most stores, you can get a pretty good deal on it (usually less than $50 depending on the size).
 
I just added 2 1 GB cards to my lappy (Vista) and I am the happiest girl on earth :thumbup: I got mine through TigerDriect.com for $20.00

I am so happy I can have Google Chrome open along with PSE7.0

I wish mine could hold that much.
 
ditto what everyone else is saying - more is better, and definitely with Vista. I have 4GB, and Photoshop rarely gives me problems.
