I guess it's time to share my news...

...ugh, as I have been putting off updating everyone. I barely have time to breathe lately let alone chat on a forum.

Rewind just a hair for anyone who missed parts. 3 days before I had Parker in May, David lost his job and we moved from Ohio to KY so that we could stay with my sister during that rough transition. While here, David joined the Army and I planned to stay here while he went through training.

A few months into my stay here, though, Tab's boyfriend started being a real jerk and I decided to remove myself from the situation to see if it would ease the relationship strain. I moved in with my BFF in Ohio, who had a whole wing of her house free for me and the kids.

Last week I came to visit Tab and of course we were both delighted to be together again even though the circumstances were awful....and together we contemplated whether I should come back here to live (her boyfriend went AWOL a few weeks ago...he's so immature and she deserves WAY better :( ...but with him not here anymore, my reason for not being here was gone) Anywhoo....I was sold on moving back and spending the rest of David's training here with Tabatha and her boys. I made plans to go get my things from Ohio and put in a change of address.

and then David called me. He's coming home! They are discharging him because he messed his ankles up somethin' awful. Turns out the "advisor" who told him what kind of running shoes to buy when he was in reception "advised" him to buy the wrong kind :( and all those miles of running on weak ankles have taken their toll. He is having a harder and harder time passing his PT test and the doctor has confirmed he has multiple injuries in his ankles and feet.

So, I will be living here in KY again and David will be joining us...we aren't sure when exactly but probably in a few weeks. He'll of course have to immediately start looking for a job but I hope that the small amount I have in savings will cover our expenses for a few months. We have low expenses so I think we'll survive...it just couldn't be at a worse time.

Tabatha and I have been through a lot together and no matter what, we are ALWAYS here for one another and we always come through relatively unscathed whatever happens :p

Amidst ALL this stuff, I haven't scrapped in almost 3 weeks. I can't wait for things to calm down again so I can!

Wow, Lena. It sure has been a crazy couple of weeks for you! All I have to say is ((hugs)). Love you honey!!

Thanks Jenny!

I must say, I am THRILLED to be having David home again. A girl can't complain about that, we miss him so much!

I'm not thrilled about the financial vagueness of our future, but I'm not terrified either. We will survive, he'll find a new job...one that lets him come home at night...and Lord knows I can dust off my B.S. and go to work too if need be :)

(((Lena))) I think your positive attitude even in uncertainy will help soooo much. Here's to hoping he can find a good job and like you said if you have to go back to work you can. Faith goes a long way these days for us. Have it and never lose that positive aspect on things!

Wow Lena...well it looks like he is ment to be home with you and I am sure things will turn out just fine. Glad he will be home with you again! But sorry he is injured.

oh Lena ((hugs)) and Tabatha ((hugs)). That is too bad about David. I'll be hoping you find a great job for him. And he'll be so thrilled to be home with you again.

((hugs)) to both you and Tabatha!!

I agree that your positive attitude during all of this will help things out so much! I am so proud of how you are handling this! You are my idol girl! I wish the best for you and your family! ((big hugs))

Oh wow, what a roller coaster ride!!! I am sorry for everything you are having to deal with. Just a word of advice, make sure your DH files for a disability claim with the military or VA immediately so that he can get a disability rating and so that if he continues to have problems with his ankles throughout his life, they will be responsible for treating it. Oh ya, and make sure he gets copies of all of his medical records. He will need that for the claim and the military often claims to "misplace" them.

Oh Lena, all this hard work and it comes to this. I'm so sorry.

Your positive attitude will definitely help you through! I'll send good vibes to you and your family :)

You're a trooper, lady... I'd be a basketcase! ((muah!)) Yer muh heeeerow.

I'll keep you in my thoughts 'n' prayers 'n' whatnot :)

Wow Lena! That is a lot to deal with. I'm sorry about David's ankles and hope he can get a job quickly.

Wow, Lena....you guys have been through so much. I have to say, I'm very happy to hear he's coming home, even if the road will be very tough and uncertain. We survived on my student stipend all summer and now hubby has a much better job than he could have hoped for. :) Things will work out for you guys too...{big hugs} I'm glad your outlook is so positive...your love is coming home!!!!

Wow you have been through a lot Lena.. I'm sorry David is getting discharged but I'm happy you get to see him.

I would think that he would be eligible for unemployment insurance during the time that he is looking for a new job? That might be something to look into -- every little bit helps!

Oh that totally bites as I was looking forward to meeting you. BUT, it's a blessing to have him around on a constant basis now! I bet thats a relief.
Good things will happen for you guys I'm sure of it. Just trust in the Lord and you will be ok.

HUGS!!

Oh wow, what a few weeks you've had! But yeah for David being home with you again. I hope he finds a job quickly.

Wow Lena! That's a pretty eventful couple of weeks! I'm so glad you and Tab have each other! I'm sorry David's "advisor" sucked and messed things up for him but I bet you can't wait to have your man home finally!!! :)

woah woman! that's a whole lotta lifestyle changes and news packed into the last few weeks for you! in the end, it sounds like everything is working out for the best and DH is on his way home to the family, i'm so glad for you :)

I'm always so impressed with your positive outlook on a rough situation. YES, everything will be OK... especially when David has YOU cheering him on. That totally sucks about his ankles... hopefully he will heal without permanent damage. I'm so sorry the military didn't work out for him but he'll find something... and it most likely won't come with the posibilty of deployment. lol

Hugs, Lena. Book plots are conceived with less than what you and Tab have and are tackling in your lives this year!

You know that old commercial - "tougher than Teflon"? in my book, I'm revising it - Teflon is like tissue paper compared to you, Lena. Will bounce back from anything while smiling, and takes attitude from no one. You are awesome, chica. Carry on!

Oh Lena I'm so sorry to hear this. But I admire your attitude and I'm confident that new doors will open for your family. And I'm so happy you and your sister have one another. ((hugs)) and will be holding you all in my prayers!

Lena, Melissa is right on the money....My brother in law was injured while in the Marine Corp and now gets money each money due to his disability rating....

You have such a positive attitude and I think this is great! I will definitely be to your advantage....So happy you will have your hubby home....:)

((Lena)) what a time you have to go through and you need to go through! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and with Tabatha! May god help you through this times!

Lena I love your positive spirit!!! I am so happy that you will have your dh for the holidays and I'm sure he'll find a good job soon.

I totally agree and I'm sorry to hear about your hubby. That's got to be painful

I am so sorry he's being discharged. He should be getting disability payments from the military though, make sure he looks into that, since he got injured while on active duty. I hope you are able to get a job for him soon.

I'm sorry that it didn't work out and that his ankles are injured. I have weak ankles, so I totally understand what an issue it can be. I am glad you will have him home again, though!
