SO - What Trends Are "In"

What are you seeing a lot of in the galleries lately?

I'm seeing lots of layers of papers/ribbons behind photos, string, worn papers/photos...

What else?
 
That is tough for me to do....I am always starting a white space and it ends up getting filled up with a ton of elements....I really need to work on it because I love the simplicity of that style, it really focuses on the subject, not the things around it!!!


I am really into the worn look, I hope that will last forever since I have a ton of them. I also like layering and the use of elements under papers, frames etc.
 
For me it's layering, clustering, worn papers and string. I :wub: string and love making custom shadows for it to make it pop off the page.
 
I honestly don't think I'll ever stop using worn overlays. I try and make my pages like paper pages with the shadowing and such, and the worn overlays give it JUST the touch I was always looking for :)

I love whitespace but can't always pull it off.
I love layering and clustering.
 
I don't know if these are "in" but I love the felt shapes - I love to sew so I think they look really cool if done right on a page - with that said - I don't think I have been brave enough to use them yet -

I've seen a lot of trends in style too...pages that look distinctly digital (vs. like paper scrapped) are pretty trendy right now. Masking, etc. Definitely clustering and loads of layers. And of course, the worn overlays. I've seen more in the way of fabrics and textures too.

Outside of a very few trends, I'm really loving them.
 
i think the 'real' look is super in. i know i totally dig me some natural fiber type stuff. friggin string is the crap. owls and birds make me happy. (:p)

the projected new trend is: fluorescents and leg warmers. everything will be so bold your eyes will bleed. :D
 
I looooooooooove string, I just have problems with the shadows for string.. so yah.. if strings came preshadowed, I'd be a happy girl. Happy happy happy.

I also love clusters and ribbon.

Do you have Julie's strings? They come shadowed and non-shadowed...
 
photo collages are becoming popular. I do see lots of white space, clusters and big shadows being done.

dude, my best friend just bought a couple pairs of leg warmers!! They are so in again!! lol I expect to see them all over when I go shopping tomorrow!! Or maybe it's just up here ... being that it's so cold, gotta keep the ankle warm somehow! hehehee

ROTFL....leg warmers were one fad I had hoped would see the light of day again. I thought I was seeing things last month when I saw a pile of them at WalMart. Unfortunately I was seeing crystal clear :blink:
 
acrylic, strings, "hand cut" paper (strips, circles, blocks), seeing lots of circles, layering elements between pieces of paper, emphasis on "small" details...
