Brrrr!! Gotta break out the heater!

I'm so weird. Every winter, I play a little game where I wait as long as absolutely possible to turn on my heater (same thing with the AC in the summer). My goal is always to make it to Nov 1, but I rarely pull that off. LOL!

It's 40 degrees here this morning though, and I just can't wait any more. So, now my house is all toasty warm. :D

Have you turned the heater on yet?

Yep, a week or two ago. It's getting pretty chilly here in Minnesota. The high temperature is forecasted to only be 40 on Sunday!

Wow, look at you Libby! Love your new hair!!!
Getting cold here too....it actually snowed here on Tuesday....we were so NOT prepared!!!!:D

It's like 39 degrees outside and I want to turn on the heat - but it's just too early! So we are sitting with blankets on top of us! :)

Not yet...in fact I haven't even had the gas company out to fill our tank yet for our gas logs...I'm still sleeping with my AC on lol...I'm very hot natured. It's supposed to get down to 39 degrees Sunday night though so I may have to kick on the heat that morning.

We turned ours on a few weeks ago. But even with it on, I end up in socks with my slippers, sweatpants, a tshirt, and a sweatshirt. And if I get really cold, my fingerless gloves (so I can still work on the computer or be otherwise crafty) and wrapped in a blanket.

Jordan is his own furnace, and I've started turning into my mother who is always cold. It's a bad combo. If I'm comfortable, he's uncomfortable, and vice versa. I hate being hot, and I know Jordan does too, so I usually just bundle up instead of turning up the heat.

I wouldn't be able to tell even if Jeff had turned it on. He keeps the house cold all year long, so I'm always layered and blanketed up, whether it's July or December.

The only time I'm ever the right temperature is at night snuggled under the comforter. :)

LOL Libby! I try to wait until the 1st of November too but while I was in Kansas City last weekend DH turned it on! Granted it was 24 degrees this morning so I'm glad he did!

I do the same thing!!! Last year we made it to October 31 and my wienie hubby just had to turn on the heater...he couldn't stand it for one more day. The stupid thing only ran for like 10 minutes and then kicked off...we totally could have made it!!! :D

I tried again this year but it's been alot colder and we have been down in the low 20's already so the one morning last week when we woke up and it was 55 degrees in the house I had to turn it on!!! :D :D

yep, it's been on for a week or two here. we keep it pretty cool in here though... thermostat is set at 64 or 65, I think. we like it that way.

I normally try that too, but this year we turned it on way early...too freaking cold not to have it on....I HATE brick, uninsulated houses!!!!

It was about 48 here this morning and I thought I was gonna freeze :D My husband just laughs at me, but dang, for a Texas girl that is the dead of winter! We were just swimming at the lake 2 weeks ago!

I turned on the heat a couple weeks ago. The boys and I were all shivering so it needed to be done. I figured, that's that...we're in heat mode now. Ha! Last night, I was sitting on the couch with DH when I said, "Ok, McFly, it's time to break out the fireplace (gas run, we turn off the pilot on it when it gets warm enought). I'm freezing." He looked at me rather quizzically and said, "Why don't you just turn on the heat?"

OMG, he'd gone and shut the heat off on me the other day because HE was hot.

Oh I'm right there with you!! It was like 71 in our house and I'm STILL cold!! (you know, after keeping it at 78 all summer, 71 is cold!). It's still right around 50 outside and I'm afraid to go out there!

I try to do the same thing about waiting. :) We turned on the heater this morning for the first time.

Oh yes, we have for about three weeks now. We had snow a couple of weeks ago, and even have our snow tires on our van now. LOL

We'd never make it to November 1st here. It's only 6C here today, it went below 0 last night. Brrr.

I finally gave in yesterday. I've really been trying to hold out since the forecast is saying it's going to get back up to the low 70s but we had snow on Wednesday and when I got up yesterday morning, our indoor thermometer said it was 58 inside. That was a bit too cold, even for me. :D

We had to turn ours on last weekend, just before our first overnight frost happened (when it got down to 29 degrees). Since we're supposed to have temps with a high of 49-51 for the next week, I have a feeling we'll be keeping it on. This weekend I'm switching the summer comforter with the down comforter, so we don't have to blast the heat.

We've had ours on for a couple weeks, its been 29-38 in the mornings, and thats just toooooooooo cold, Im always cold as it is, so heat for us it is! ;)
