Do you twitter?

i'm confused as all heck about this twitter stuff - reading the hundreds of seemingly unrelated comments on some of you guys pages was doing my head in but i joined anyway - add me if ya want
http://twitter.com/bellbird - hope thats the right link - i think even if i'd known about Christy's lightning quick CT call, I wouldn't have got myself twittered in time LOL

Ok, this is too cool! My poor blog is going to be really neglected now! LOL I'm a Mac user, so I get to use the way cool Twitterpated app!!

Couple of twitter reminders from your friendly neighborhood SpiderWoman!

Keep having fun but be mindful that you arent putting out any SUPER personal info, like where you live or where you're going or your email addy etc. If you want to get another scrapper your personal info like your email addy or hello/IM info, click Home in the menu at the top and and then Direct messages in the sidebar menu. Select the person's name from the drop down and type your private message so it's for their eyes only.

We are a bunch of chicklets with our kids on the internet and I am 100% comfortable with that. I just want to remind everyone to be safe and smart!

Okay back to your regularly scheduled twittering program now :D

So is anyone else getting people befriending them that they don't know? I probably DO know these people in the scrap world... just want to make sure that nobody random is just saying "boy I really need to know more about that Julie"

I dont have my twitter public so they need to be friends with me before they know anything Im twittering - I feel like a celebrity writing that out LOL.

One can never be too careful on the net especially with all the whackjobs out there. We've recently had a few weirdos on my siggy making board that were using stolen pictures so copyrighting your pictures is a good idea, girls.

LOL Darla... Okay here's what I think everyone should know...

Twittering is also called microblogging and it's a way to tell your friends what you're up to in 160 characters or less without all the formality and formatting, etc of long blog posts. It's easy to keep up with.

Add people as your friends and you'll be "following" them until they add you back. ie. They'll show up as a friend on YOUR twitter, but you'll show up as a follower on THEIR twitter until they add you back.

Twitter displays messages in a timeline format and will include all of your friends in that timeline display. To view it, access your main page and click the "with friends" tab and all of the messages from you and anyone you've chosen as a friend will be showed in the order they were posted.

Because of this timeline, it's almost like a giant chatroom where you can see and respond to your friends as you have the time throughout the day.

There are two ways to reply to your friends. Publicly and Privately.

To reply in public (a message you want all of your friends to see) type @username in your message posting box along with the rest of your message. The comment will be directed at that user and your post will be linked up to their twitter so people can follow along.

To reply in private (a message only the user will be able to see) visit their twitter and click the message link in their sidebar OR from your twitter, click home, then the direct messages link in your sidebar and the direct message tool will come up and you can select the username you want to send a message from in the dropdown menu and send them a message.

Other than that...twitter away and let us know if ya have any questions!

Robin
