I left the other 2 sites that I did the monthly/weekly challenges with because Sweet Shoppe kept me so busy I just literally didn't have time for them. I decided I liked the challenges so much here that I came here to stay/play all month long...and then you scaled back.

I don't want to do layouts that I don't want to print...that's kinda pointless considering I am sooooooo far behind that I need to get my kids' regular layouts done. ...but am disappointed as it seems the challenges are fewer and farther between...I'm bored.

FYI I'd like to participate in the card challenge...but I'd like to pick my own size to fit the envelopes I have...I'll do a teensy bit of hybrid...but I don't want to make my own envies...so that is why I only participated once in the card challenge.

I know it is a lot of work on Meghan's part...and personally don't know how she keeps up with it all...and it is very much appreciated as I love earning the 40% discount!

I need some mojo! I miss all the challenges. I really like it here.

I totally agree. I come here for the challenges. It makes me sad that my choices are limited now. I don't do hybrid or card challenges, if I wanted to do that I would stricktly paper scrap. I started digi so I didn't have to deal withall the stuff and mess and kids wanting to help. Am I the only one who noticed how slow the gallery has been lately?
 
I think its just going to take some getting used to, girls. We're just so used to getting new challenges every week, that it seems like there are less challenges.
When, in fact, there are just as many challenges (if not more!) than before, but now they're coming out in big groups twice a month rather than spread out.

So are you saying you've done all of the challenges from the previous months? I am gonna be bold and say NO you haven't...so go back to old challenges and see if they can inspire you to do some pages for you that may or may not fit a challenge as well! Lots of great inspiration and it should spark some mojo for you!!!
 
I am glad you all like the challenges...really we ALL are but you have to realize on our part too the work that is involved with keeping the challenges fresh and fun. You ARE allowed to scrap layouts with SSD for our gallery that don't have to be for a challenge. That IS allowed yanno lol not every LO has to be for a challenge. I can tell ya now that in January, when the new year rolls around, that SSD will be the PLACE TO BE for challenges. You will NOT be bored ONE day at all...that's all I'm saying about that.

Anyways, new challenges will be up on the 20th. Maybe a random challenge will appear sometime...just keep your eyes peeled and hey scrap a LO for fun!
 
Meg, I am not really complaining. More like agreeing. I know it is a lot of work for you. I just miss the good old days of last month. Looking forward to January!!!
 
Well, those other sites you did challenges at are still there, aren't they? Why not just participate in some of their challenges when you've run out of ones to do here. It's not like the SSD police are going to ban you for doing non-SSD challenges! ;) :D :p
 
Yep, it's really fun to go back and do challenges you missed from previous months, too. Even though you don't get points for them, they're still great for getting your mojo going! :)
 
Oh how I wish I could spill the wonders that will take place here soon, rofl. But trust me I'm not trying to tease or anything but it will be totally worth the wait :)
 
Well one of the sites require you only use their kits...and since YOU ALL got me hooked on Sweet Shoppe kits...I don't have much desire to use theirs. lol I want to use these kits. lol Good idea on going back to previous months (before I started here) and do their challenges...I can do that.

I am hoping I can get the points for the month...it's going to get busy next week like crazy...if I have time to scrap much before the robotics competition on the 25th I'll be surprised. ...so was really hoping to see more challenges so I could get my points in time...I have time between now and next Monday... lol

I thought for sure my Kaboodle list was going to be smaller this month...and darn it if it didn't grow more!

Even though I have really enjoyed being on the Robotics team with my dh and 3 sons...it has really taken a big chunk of time (at least 25 hours per week)...am kinda looking forward to things getting back to normal and I have even more time to scrap! Which is good because I will have lots and lots of Robotics pictures to scrap!
 
I just have to laugh because I look at the list of challenges and I'm completely overwhelmed because I don't think I have ENOUGH time to get them done!! I'm just not as quick I guess. Just how long does it take to get proficient in this stuff! I still feel like such a newbie!!

ha ha, I feel the SAME way and I've been digi scrapping for several years now.
 
I agree about going back and doing past challenges. I'm doing all the Card ones I missed. I'm not worrying too much about strictly sticking to the guidelines either; I'm just using them as inspiration.

haha i'm a SLOWWWWWW scrapper myself..sometimes it takes me 2-3 days to do ONE LO!! I think before I was a babe I only got up to 40% two times and I did the challenges a lot!

I was TOTALLY going to say the SAME thing! I can't wait to see what the changes will be--but January is so far away, so I'll try to forget about it for now. :) Unless the opportunity to be a babe is there.... :)
 
I second Amber's idea of doing blog challenges. They give out gc's to their shop, and you have a very high chance of winning. Also go and check out the Digi-Dares. Traci's a darer over there (and Meghan too?) and you can win all sorts of stuff from their sponsors.

It takes awhile...but then suddenly you take off! I do roughly 500 layouts a year...yes I am hooked! ...but believe it or not...500 layouts a year and I am no where CLOSE to even being caught up!

I can tell ya now that previous cookies aren't avail. ...everything from August back has been taken down.
