Town Hall Debate

Obama is so condescending when he talks I just can't stand to listen to him. I hate people like that! The Office is on TBS so I am watching that instead. Debates are boring!

The exact same thing can be said about McCain too. McCain calling Obama "that one over there" was very condescending and out-of-line. Lets be fair when talking politics, thats all I'm saying.

I watched it while reading and surfing the net. I just can't wait till this election is over.

It was bad. Neither one of them answered the questions, and neither followed the rules. I found myself hoping they'd been outfitted with shock collars and Tom Brokaw had the control.. but... no.

My time would have been better spent watching paint dry. Same topics, same questions, same partisan type moderator, same regurgitated answers. What is going on with their campaign managers who orchestrate these things? Neither party is playing their strengths. McCain is too vague on some things and I would for once like a straight answer out of Obama without a song and dance. Whether you like Palin or not I think she might could tell you the price of a loaf of bread or how much her light bill went up since last year- a lot quicker than the other candidates could.

We've heard some of the top issues in these debates but there are so many things that have been looked over and never addressed that people want answers for. I think Rick Warren's saddleback forum was the best one yet.

Is it any wonder I want to write in Ron Paul's name?
I know right! I wanted Huckabee so it's tempting to write in his name. I used to think Ron Paul was a little wack with his isolationist stuff, but I tell you, the man is smarter than any politician I've seen yet when it comes to the economy. I think Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee are the only ones who have the guts to do anything about the economy but neither one of them is up there. I'm a big supporter of the fair tax and I think it would put the brakes on all the earmarks and corruption in Washington. Which is probably why you didn't see Huckabee on the top of the ticket.

Here's my take on the debate last night:

McCain: I'm going to cut taxes!
Obama: I'm going to cut taxes!
McCain: No, I'm going to cut taxes!
Obama: No, me...IIIIIIIII'm going to cut taxes.
McCain: No, ME.
Obama: No, ME.
McCain: MEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Obama: MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

And then they end up in a slap fight flailing at each other.

I think this would have been much more interesting than the actual debate was. :w00t:

We tivoed it and only made it through maybe half or so. It was SO boring. They just kept repeating everything we've already heard. Honestly, what is the point of having questions if they're not going to answer them anyway? I don't need to hear a re-hash of what you already said in the first debate.

I was even disappointed in the questions though..they were so boring..i think they should have done without Tom Brokow and just let the audience rip into them. It would have made for a better debate for sure.

I have to say Tom Brokaw was the worst moderator yet. It's HIS JOB as moderator to cut them off, if they run over the time, and to keep things on track...not just reprimand them for not following the rules they agreed upon. Politicians will never shut up on their own. What a mess.

LOL Love your version of it.

We turned it on halfway into it and about 5 seconds later DH is shouting at the TV "Answer the damn question!!!!" to whoever was speaking. I made him turn it off. He switched to the internet and read some people who live (and or drunk) blogging it. The middle man seemed to defuse his frustration.

I have no patience with it. the lack of direct answers just kills me.

Yeah, Tom sucked.

Oh and I think if I hear the words "my friends", "fundamental", or "maverick" one more time I may be forced to eat my own hand.
