Ok...I had a brillant idea.
Well it officially won't be brillant until/unless you all tell me so, but...I had this idea to host a little 4-6 week (in 1 hour sessions on Friday after school or whatever) friendship seminar for the 4th and 5th grade girls at my daughters elementary school based on an American Girls book called 'A Smart Girls Guide to Friendship Troubles'.
The book is soooo cool and very comprehensive and modern! It talks about the whole popularity thing, what defines a true friend, boundries, respect, feeling left out, etc. At the 4th and 5th grade age is when it all goes down. Girls become evil (ie. they are growing up and their hormones are kicking in) and I just thought this could help. Not only would we be reading the book together but I would make it feel like a club! Super fun skits, crafts, role playing activities, etc.
Anywho...do you think this is a good idea?
If so, would you as a parent pay $10-15 (the cost of the book and craft supplies) for your child to learn some great life tools?
