Okay so Im totally annoyed with the amount of telemarketing phone calls we have received since we signed up for Comcast Digital Voice. I have put us on the do not call list, I have told them not to call. They were seeming to call more often if anything! So I looked on comcast's website and they have this call screening where you can block numbers so I just did that! Cross your fingers that I wont be receiving anymore 8 am phone calls.:cursing:

oh man, that sucks. If it is the same people calling after you told them not to, depending on where you live, you can threaten lawsuit. I hope the number blocking works!

I think I really have no life. Sometimes talking to telemarketers does not bother me. I think I talked to the Dish Network lady for five minutes yesterday. I like to lead them on, asking them questions, making them think I will sign up. But then I don't. I derive a wee bit of satisfaction knowing that I wasted their time (true, they are wasting my time too I guess but usually I am surfing the web @ the same time).

but calling @ 8am -- that would irk me. hope the number blocking works for you, Sarah.

Hey that's awesome!! I wish I had something like that because if I get ONE more Democratic party call - I'm gonna go to Washington and chuck my phone up that donkey's butt.

Reason #1 why we don't have a land line.

Our favorite trick to play when we used to have a land line and knew it was a telemarketer (NO ONE had our number, it was there so we could DSL and that was it, I didn't even know what the number was, lol) was to answer the phone and pretend we were cops and they had called a crime scene and would need to come in for questioning. Classic!

*rofl* Col! I'm totally calling you a couple weeks before your (our! *lol*) wedding next year & doing this to you!!

LOL! Bring it on girl!

It's fun though. They get all flustered and ask if it's a joke, and then you have to be serious and say something like "I don't think that brutal homicides are funny at all sir/ma'am. If you do then we have a bigger issue on our hands and we're really gonna need you to come down to the station."

Ugh, since we got charter, the telemarketers have been rediculous. EVERYone has our number! The ones that irk me the most are the ones that call in the middle of dinner, then there's a few who call a frickin 9:00 at night!!! GRRRRRR.
LOL, my brother gets them started on their little speech, then hands the phone to his daughter and lets her talk/play with the phone(she just turned 6)! I so need to do that.

Oh boo on them! We have Comcast and don't really seem to get many telemarketers calling.

Paula- I hope this doesn't sound rude but if those are real people calling they are only volunteers and don't get any money or profit out of calling. I used to be one of those people and it really sinks the morale when you are doing your best for the candidate you support and people are rude to you and/or hang up on you. There is obviously a reason they are calling so perhaps you can call the local campaign headquarters and ask to be taken off of their list. We always honored those requests when we got them. It takes their time and effort too and they don't want to talk to people who have no interest in talking, honestly.

We have been getting bombed with them also, and it's so irritating. We just don't answer the phone anymore. There was one that called 3-4 times an hour for 11 hours one day. I almost threw the damn phone out the window.

ROFL! I wish I had the guts to do this. But even on the phone I am gutless. I always want to ask them questions about where they are, is this a full-time/part-time job, how much do they get paid, do they get a discount for the company they are calling for, etc.

So glad I ditched my landline. I couldn't take it anymore. My girls always started fighting when the phone rang (because they obviously know I can't stop them if I'm talking on the phone) so if it was a telemarketer, I'd always say, "Can you hear that? I've got fighting children. Is this more important than the blood they are getting ready to shed?" That usually got me off the hook. :)

God I feel for you ladies but can I just say Im glad Im not the only one LOL. I was getting to the point where I would just push a bunch of buttons and hang up. Petty I know and well I guess it didn't help at all lmao cause they just started calling more frequently and earlier. You girls are a riot though lmao, I am totally gutless as well. Thats why I never answer the door for those magazine salesmen. You know the college aged kids taht reek of cigarettes and say if you buy all their magazines they are going to bermuda or somewhere equally tropical.

I just heard that scenario from a radio dj in south somewhere. My DH got it in an email. I laughed so hard. Good idea I give you two thumbs up.
