I need HELP!!

I am trying to back up my files to my external HD. I have backed up everything once before but now that I have added new files I need to back those up too. I can't figure out how to back up the new stuff but not the entire file. For example just my new pics I have added to my HD not the entire My pictures foler. Does that make any sense?!?!? I am not so computer smart Thanks girls.

Did your EHD not come with software to backup for you and detect new stuff? I have an EHD and the software isn't compatible with Vista and I can't find an update download for it so I have to do everything manually. It toally SUCKS and for some reason DH thinks I don't need a new EHD. lol

I have no software.

There is software that will do just incremental backups for new stuff. You can just google "incremental backup software" or something like. There are even some free programs. I use a paid one, but I'm having some issues with it so I can't recomment it.

Just drag and drop your new files to the ehd.

Ok..so Megan..if I have software then when I plugged my EHD in it should detect my new stuff & automatically back it up??? is that right?

Yup. And I need to find some of that software myself. lol... but I'd rather just buy a new EHD with software b/c my EHD is a hand-me-down and has limited space.

And just in case you have a Mac, it comes with a Backup program built in. I have it going on a weekly basis for photos, and I already store my scrapbook stuff there instead of on the HD!
