Has anyone ever used this????

I have downloaded all of the extras, but they're so "difficult" I guess to use, because you have to load them individually and they don't stay loaded, so it's kinda annoying. I have played with them, though.

And now I am discouraged.......so you have to relaod each one every time? In doing that does it save space in PSE?

I used to use Virtual Photographer to do some fun effects. I don't remember any problem with it staying loaded, but it's been a long time since I used it.

I used to use it on my desktop, haven't gone back to see if they have upgraded it to be compatible with Vista yet. lol

*ok, so it appears they have now made it compatible, so I will probably re-download it to use again.*

Well, you just go down to the bottom and load it, then you can load a different one, so the one you used previously is no longer "loaded", kwim. Or am I doing it wrong? LOL!

It shouldn't affect PSE5's load time at all, though...

I used to use them, but haven't in a long time.

Bree, I never had that problem, but I wasn't using PSE. Maybe it's specific to PSE. I could page through all of the filters.

I've used the VP plug-in for about a year and have never had a problem...PSE 5 loads quickly, so it hasn't slowed down anything, and it's fun to play with.
I have never had to re-load...it shows up at the bottom of the filters tab, and then you select the filter you want to use, and you can play with different options as well.

IMO, it's definitely worth the download, and since I'm not able to buy Lightroom at this point, it's a decent free alternative.

LOL, sorry...I was talking about the extras, not the actual VP plug-in. I use that ALLLL the time and I've never had to reload it. I just meant the extra downloads, you have to reload them within VP whenever you want to use them.

I couldn't figure how to add the extras to it,lol. Seems it might be more trouble than it's worth to try if i DID get it right:blink:

I used it all the time when I first started scrapping and eventually when other's started offering free actions and I bought a few Photo Blast actions I quit using it. I always felt it made my photos "too soft" (blurry) and now tht I am actually getting around to printing those old LO's the pictures don't look all that great....they really are to blurry for me, that's just me though.

alrighty then....of to unzip and have some fun!!! after I get back from the grocery anyway  THANKS SO MUCH for all the info girls!!

Yes, I use Virtual Photographer ALL THE TIME! I apply one of those filters on nearly every photo before scrapping.

The extra downloads do not stay loaded though... if you want to use them, you have to load them every time. I jsut don't use the extras... I just stick to the presets already in there because I'm lazy. lol

Yeah, play with the settings when you're applying a filter. I never leave it as the preset.. I always tweak it. Some filters make them soft... but you can adjust that and i always do. You don't have ot leave the preset the way it is. You can apply a preset and tweak it from there. I never leave it on the "Soft" settings and I always take down the Film Speed. "Soft" effects help brighten it up, but you can achieve that with some of the other sliders.

I haven't used it since I got Lightroom, I'd just save up for Lightroom, since there's so much more you can do with it.

I am just not that good of a photographer so I think Lightroom would be a waste of $$$ for me right now. Though I have to admit at one point (back 25 some years ago) a was damn good at taking pics with my non-digital SLR. I should figure out how to fix that bad boy and start up again!!!! Maybe, someday I will get better at taking pictures but for now I kinda point and shoot and hope for the best!!!!!

I use Virtual Photographer a lot. I did pick up some of the "extras" and I agree that it is a pain to have to link to the filters in an outside folder, but I haven't actually USED any of those extra pre-sets yet... the effects have yet to look quite right.

Some of my favorite photographs have had VP filters used. I don't have a newer version where I can use some of the fancy filters that are out there for sale, or I'd probably be looking at getting some of them!

I use it and I love it! Once you get the hang of it you can play around with the settings for a more tailored effect too. Some of the downloads are fab as well, but like they say, you have to load them each time to use them. Not a biggie though. I couldn't do without Virtual Photographer now.
