Tell me that it's really okay

To get rid of the baby can. We have a Rubbermaid Trashcan (bit industrial one) filled with baby clothes, blankies and toys. I've always held to the 'dont' get rid of it or you'll get pregnant again' theory because I'm so done having kids.

However, the things takes up so much room in my linen pantry, and I'd like to put up shelving to store the clothes waiting for Aiden to grow into..and other needs. I keep looking at that thing and want to get rid of it, yet am afeared of doing it :p

Did you get rid of your baby clothes?

I have parted with everything baby including all the baby furniture (we had 2 of everything). But I don't have the fear of getting pregnant since I have never been pregnant. LOL!!! I donated everything to families that needed it and it made it alot easier to do it because I knew someone would greatly benefit from it.

I got rid of everything except for the hospital shirts the hospital put them in when they were born (and stretchy caps). Everything else is outta here.

It's OK to get rid of them Darcy...really! :) After I had Natalie, I gave up all my baby boy clothes to my sister (we were due a week apart and I was holding onto them to be sure I didn't need them, since Natalie didn't cooperate and show us what she was during the ultrasound, lol). All Natalie's clothes have been handed down as well - twice a year I go through all the clothes and sort out what doesn't fit...what doesn't fit goes into a box, and my sister receives said box(es).

The only things I have kept are 1 pair of teeny tiny shoes for each kid (their first pair) and blankets that were handmade especially for them. Everything else got given away.

I got rid of Lukas's baby stuff because we lost one pretty soon after and I didn't want to look at it, when Leo came along he needed all new stuff anyway since he was so tiny nothing would have fit him anyway, when he died I couldn't look at his stuff without crying. So with the exception of a few little bits I couldn't bear to part with and a carrier bag full of stuff for Lukas's baby doll everything went to the Special Care Baby Unit. Hugs Crystal xx

Elle is 16 months and I still have all of her baby clothes...
I am getting rid of all the "gear" because it is taking up space i dont have..
I DEFINITALY want more kids, so I will save the clothes... FOR A WHILE...
I am not in a relationship, so another child is a way off for me, so I may end up getting rid of them, and just re-buying..

Sorry that was just a long ramble with no help at all.... :p

I have everything, but I only have 1 almost 2 year old and am not completely positive I am done yet, just leaning toward it.

Darcy - get rid of it! I've gotten rid of everything baby except a few keepsake items for each child. I go through Sam's stuff every 6 months and anything too small goes to Goodwill....

I got rid of them after 6 months :D All clothes tend to get sold (they only wear it a few times) or given/handed me down except their christening clothes and shoes and this baby blanket that has been used by my two kids. This I do even if my mom tells me not to because I can get pregnant again. I dispose even the crib, sterilizer, etc :D after three years :D

I still have everything! But I also have 3 younger brothers and Billy had 4 younger siblings. So there is bound to be someone who wants the stuff.

got rid of all the baby stuff except for some spoons and sippy cups.

No worries about another baby here . . . snip snip ;)

Well... we got rid of everything, I mean everything -- the crib, the clothes, the car seats, the stroller, everything. Now we're pregnant with #3. Just sayin'. :)

Space is a big issue for me right now, so I went through all the baby clothes and had a yard sale. $150 on clothes...just CLOTHES!!! I only got rid of about half because my DD2 can grow into DD1's stuff. They were both winter babies, and since all DH has to do is LOOK at me and I get pregnant, I already know I'm going to for a spring/summer baby next time. So it would all be the wrong season.

So have a yard sale... GET RID OF IT! :)

We held onto everything because we knew we were going to have 2 and possibly 3 kids. But now I'm pregnant with #3, and this time I'm going to be getting rid of things as we finish with them. I donated a few boy things since we're having a girl this time, but I'm going to hold onto everything else until DD is born since it feels like tempting fate to give away all the boy things based on one ultrasound.

I have a few friends due in the spring who may need boy things and our school has a spring and fall consignment sale for baby and child items, so that's where most of it will go. I'll hold onto a few favorites and special outfits (like going home outfits) plus a bit of baby gear I might need if friends' babies visit, and everything else is outta here! The clothes waiting to be passed from DS1 to DS2 take up enough room.

I have THIRTEEN large plastic bins full of boy baby clothes!!! THIRTEEN!! ranging in size from newborn - 2T and since this baby is a girl she's either going to be dresssing like a tomboy or I've got to get rid of them. They're in our 3rd bedroom closet right now filling up the entire space practically. I have a childhood friend at church whose wife is expecting a boy so I'm going to see if they want to go through them but after that I'll probably post the rest on ebay. DS barely wore half of any of it as well...my sister and my sister in law both gave me hand-me downs...I am overwhelmed with boy clothes!!

I've gotten rid of everything. I find it's much easier to give it away when you hand it down to someone you know or you are able to donate it to a good cause. I'm sure after Ike finishes coming threw, there will be people who need to replace their baby stuff. Plus, if you do get preggo again, think how much fun you will have shopping for new stuff! :)

I sold all the baby clothes at a garage sale last year for a whopping $450 and then sold various baby gear here and there for even more money that recycled back into buy new things for my boys. The last of the baby gear parted last Sat...the baby beds! I held onto to clothes I loved my kids wearing but I say clear it out. Donate to a shelter or to a church or something like that!
