This was the first digital layout I ever made, back in Nov 2004:


This was my first post at SSD, after Susan lost her mind and allowed me to create for her {for which I will always be thankful} in May 2007. It was also one of the very first layouts I ever made that was NOT a lift or a template. Obvious, huh?


And this is my most recent:

Just for the record, i think it's wrong that you all have gotten so good so fast.
 
Well, you all were WAY TOO GOOD even with your first layout! Let's look at mine from 2006 (oops, I originally wrote 1996... nope, it was 2006)
where to start- the BEVELS :blink: the shadows, the shadows on the text.

too funny! I was all about adding a bevel to stuff and drop shadows to my text until I came onto this gallery... ha ha!

Holy Moly, how bad are those drop shadows!!! course I'm not sure I'm really much better today....LOL
Here's a page I just made the other day. I think it's a little better but probably only because the products I'm using are sooooo much better now! Hopefully I;m better at cropping too! At least at chopping the body off!!!!

You know, the biggest thing I see in all of our LOs now, vs then, is the shadowing. I love how all the LOs now look so real, like they aren't digital at all!

I had NO idea about shadows until Katrina told me about them :D

LOL, you girls are funny! If I remember correctly I didn't make Heather Roselli's team either, then I was too chicken to apply for MandaBean and Robin's team when they had calls!!
 
Let me start out by saying that I still have a long way to go because I am still a relative newbie. I looked at my first LO a few weeks ago, and I had to laugh (although I still LOVE it for what it is):

Wow this thread is so fun! I just love to see how talented everyone is here, and its amazing to see how far digital has come in such a short time! :) My first page was created without any kits (June 2005) Haha I didn't even know you could buy cute kits at the time! LOL! Its very simple, graphic. Alot of my first LOs where that way! :)

You know what else is amazing, the difference in all the photographs from the first page to that more recent pages!!! We all have gotten so much better and our cameras have gotten better!!!! :D :D
 
geez some of you have only started recently and started out so much better than i ever did! i didnt evenhave drop shadows on my first ever page (i started at DSP but didn't start posting for a while, i think i started posting basically when i found TDC)
