Here it comes!

Halloween that is! My favorite time of the year/favorite holiday. I get so excited and feel just like a kid again, thinking of cool brisk evenings with colored leaves scattering about-caramel apples and apple cider.
So tonight I decided to browse for costumes online and fell in love with this...

It's a lot of money for wearing it once, but I'm dreaming of the photos I could have of my youngest dd walking through the woods, sitting in a field, etc.
Would you dare spend this much on a Halloween costume?

hehehehe!! my mom made that costume last year for dd!! she spent about that to make it too! get it! adorable! btw...fall...is my very favorite too!! makes me sooo giddy thinking about it!

Oh my goodness, that is CUTE!!!! A tad pricey, but do you have more than one costume event you can do? Could it be used in a school play or for just at home dress-up? If so, I can see myself doing it...I'd just have to hide all evidence from DH!!! LOL!

YAY, someone else who luuuurves Halloween!

Hell, yes, I'd spend that much on a costume! I spend a ton of money adding new stuff to my Halloween decorations each year, so I think it's a perfectly reasonable expenditure.

That costume is CUTE!!!! If I had the money and I was going to Halloween parties and such I would get it!

I like Halloween too because it is my sig others and my youngest daughter's birthday.

I am a Halloween nut and dress-up with my twin boys every year but I have limits so NOOOO I wouldn't spend that much on a costume. I would instead search for a way to duplicate this costume for a lot cheaper that still has as much charm and character. Or better yet do you know anyone that sews? Bribe them with anything you can for them to make this for you, I know you could buy fabric and thread for less than half of what they are selling this for! Hancock's has patterns on sale for 99 cents all the time and you can catch coupons for Joann, Hobby Lobby or Hancock for fabric too!! And check out ebay they always have fab deals there too!

LOL - if I had the extra money -- I would TOTALLY get that for my stepdaughter -- if we were actually going to have her for Halloween. :( It's adorable!

I love Halloween too! Sometimes I think I like it more than Christmas. Fall is my favorite season by far!

I would totally get that costume. I have a weakness for overspending on Halloween costumes. I have no idea what my three little guys are going to be this year yet.

OH MAN!
Halloween is the time of year that I wish wish wish I was American. We dont do it here in Australia, well a few people do but its just not the same as I imagine it is over there.

Im going to have to plan my USA Vacation (which is so so sooooo far in the future) to fall on Halloween time so I can experience it.

I'd totally get it! It's SO cute, and the picture ideas are fantastic!!

Let her play dress up in it afterwards, I bet she'll love that! Then it's not just a 1 time outfit, it's hours of playful imagination time! :)

Mandy -

You can always look at reselling it on ebay later if you want to recoup some of the money. But it is definitely a darling outfit :)

That is really cute! But unless there were several occasions where I knew it would be worn, I personally wouldn't buy it. I can't justfiy the $65 outlay even if I can get $40 or so back from ebay later. I'm a throw together an outfit from what is on hand sort of person though so buying costumes really isn't my thing.

I love fall! I am so looking forward to the hay rides, the corn mazes, the dozen or so harvest festivals, the apple picking, the fresh apple cider. Halloween trick or treating in a rural community just isn't the same as my suburban childhood though. I don't find dressing up and circling cars in a parking lot for 30 minutes for Trunk or Treat nearly as much fun as going door to door around the neighborhood for a couple hours.

I'd get it. But then.. I'm known to way overspend on Halloween costumes. Abby was a cow when she was one.. and I think it cost that much.

Well, I'd probably get it but I'm a sucker for all things Halloween. And I've been known to overspend a time or two on costumes when it came time - can you say Glinda the good witch and Dorothy combo - or how about Cinderella and her cute little Tom Arma mouse? I'm big on theming my kids too, can you tell? :p

We always use our costumes as dress-up clothes after Halloween - and that Cinderella costume has paid for itself many times over. :)

Ha! I was Little Red Riding Hood like 3 years in a row when I was a little girl. That costume is WAY better than what I wore! ;)

I bought Halloween M&Ms at Target last night - they added green and purple ones to the mix (at least this is the first time I've seen those colors for Halloween).

Eh, Halloween is just not my thing. It's okay and all. Maybe I will think it's supergreat when I have kids?? Thanksgiving & Christmas are definitely my fave holidays and season.

As for spending that much on a costume... if my pretend DD loved playing dress up on a regular basis, I would talk her real grandmother into buying it for her and then she could play with it around the house afterwards. :)

I love me some halloween too!!! I wish here in AZ it actually changed to fall...I miss all the colors and changing leaves... :(

No way Joe!!! But if you read the back to school clothes thread you'll know I'm also that mom that makes her kids wear walmart, goodwill and hand me down clothes!!! :D :D :D
