I hate DHL!!!!!!!

We ordered bunk beds for our twin boys that were due to arrive on Friday. Then the package got rerouted back to the shipper and was due to arrive today. Well I checked the online tracking to noavail so called DHL to get info on the order and found out that the package is being rerouted AGAIN back to the shipper. So obviously the beds are not arriving today. DHL says they don't deliver to our area and that the beds would be turned over to USPS who doesn't take items over 70 lbs. I am so aggravated. I've never used DHL before and with this experience I NEVER will.

Thanks for letting me vent. I have two little boys who are very excited about getting their new beds and it's breaking my heart that I can't tell them when they will arrive. And furthermore we've already been charged for the beds so it's frustrating since no one can give me an answer as to when they will arrive.

Oh sweety hugs, I know how hard it is knowing our kiddos are going to be dissapointed!! I cant believe that DHL would be so careless on you guys, thats terrible! I hope you recieve your bunk beds soon!
 
Wow! I love DHL. They are usually much more reliable than any other shipping method I've had experience with. Sorry you are having such a tough time with them! And maybe it's a good thing that you won't have to deal with them again since they don't service your area! :) Don't order a Dell... they use DHL.
 
we went to big lots two years ago and got nice bunk bed set for our kids and only spent 400 dollars on them, We looked at alot of bunkbeds at just about every furniture store and saw a set we really liked but the store was always out and we waited months for them to get more and that why we ended up just heading over to big lots. I wanted a set that had two seperate beds and one with lighter colored wood because I really dislike dark stains. Hope you get yours soon though. Its no fun when you order soemthing and get the runaround

Oh that stinks Jami!! What's gonna happen now?

Called the company we ordered from and told them the story from DHL and I requested delivery via UPS and the company made it happen. So we are done with DHL and SHOULD have our beds by the end of the week! FINGERS CROSSED!

We went to every local furniture store and every store had to order beds and we saved $60 ordering online. So either way we would've had to wait for the beds.

We too wanted a light/natural wood!

I am with ya on DHL!! I absolutely hate them. Three of the 4 times I have had something sent to me via DHL...it is always a complete run around! They always say "It will be here today" and of course it never is! The last time, though the delivery guy actually showed up on time.....he told me that I am actually way out of their area! Maybe it is because we are in some little rural town, I don't know. But that would of been nice to know the first time I had trouble. Now anytime I order anything I make sure they are not using DHL.
 
I totally hate DHL too. Apple used them to send out replacement laptop batteries when they recalled some battery batches. Getting that freakin' battery was such a monumental hassle because their driver was too damn lazy to even make an attempt to deliver it. Their CS is brutal and, well, downright snotty.

Sorry you had to deal with them too. I will NEVER give them any business whatsoever again.
 
Apparantly DHL is in a bit of a mess worldwide. As a European owned company they do things differently than American shipping companies.
Also, they used to use the airport in Wilmington,Ohio for a huge hub, it made up most of the airport. They pulled out, leaving 6,000 people more or less without jobs.
 
I'm usually a huge fan of DHL. My Dell purchases have been known to show up Next Day at times.

But last week, they lost some favor for me. I ordered CS3 from Dell, with Next Day shipping that I paid for. It was picked up on Monday, supposed to be delivered on Tuesday. Nope, it sat on a truck for a day. I got it Wednesday.

Yeah, I know the next day isn't so bad, compared to waiting for bunk beds. But I spent $16 to get it Next Day and they failed to do that. :thumbdown:
 
I'm so sorry DHL gave you a hard time! Personally, I have always had bad luck with them. No matter how many times I speak to the local supervisors the darn drivers always deliver my stuff to the wrong place. One time they put the mattress to my daughter's crib on someone elses lawn and it rained- yeah, that was horrible! Anyway, I'm glad they are shipping it UPS! Hopefully it will get there soon!!
 
sorry you had such a rotten experience with DHL. I *heart* my DHL guy, he is so sweet when he brings me packages at work (he's kinda cute too! heheee). Here, the headache is FedEx (don't get me started on them, I used to work customer service for them!! Ugh!!).

Thankfully you got it all sorted it out!!
 
I've just had a similar experience with a courier company here in New Zealand - I will never ever use them again! I bought a Cosmo Cricket Blackboard Jack Album using Trade Me (New Zealand equivelent of ebay) - I have no choice in what courier company the trader uses which really annoys me as this particular company charges $3 more to come half the distance the other company does. This is the 2nd time they have managed to not find my mom's work address (it has huge big blue signs so you can't miss it). When it left the trader the courier didn't scan it so we have no tracking number so couldn't chase it up from our end and now they have finally admitted it after 6 weeks of waiting that they have lost it! At least I am getting a refund for it and will now be going to my local scrapping store to buy it tomorrow
