My MPT (My Pic Tales) prints just came!!

**ACK** they are beautiful!!! I've never printed any of my LO's (just a few individual ones for gifts to give away) and I must say I am so sad I waited so long!!! Here are just a few photos of them (I got 8x8 size) please excuse my terrible photo taken they really don't do the prints justice!!!

I added .25 "extra" they suggested but I added it in white (all my PSD are buried in DVD's somewhere) and I am glad I did...there is hardly any "white" left around them and I would have been so sad if some journaling or something would have been cut off!! Also here is that last ones "digital file" that I set in (low resolution for her of course) so you can see the border (I turned it red so you could see it against the white forum background) and what was cut off!!!

I know as of yesterday some were saying their uploaded was still down but not sure if that is for everyone since Monday I uploaded 224 LO's!!! I really have to give them a  and recommend them...they are FABULOUS!!!!

I wasn't absolutely thrilled with the photobook I printed with them, but I'm going to try the single prints anyways since it's a steal! I'll probably do them as gifts since I like bound books. And yeah, I can't get in to upload anything either. Keep getting a message that the uploader is down for urgent maintenance.

Your pages look beautiful!

My concern is that I'm so spoiled by my Sams photo prints (in 8x8) that if I go to this I'll be really disappointed. Granted, the price is amazing. Are these laser printed pieces on heavy cardstock?

Well, no one can beat my 35 cents for a 9x9 and my printing man does laser on heavy cardstock!!

Yeah. I think that's right.

ITA about being spoiled... my book did not print nearly as well as my Costco prints.

gorgeous!

I did a review over at DST on my prints as well. I didn't add .25" to my prints and still NO white edges. I'm so pleased with the prints!!! Definitely a customer for good. I had 230 prints made and delivered.

Yes on the coupon, order $10 and get a $100 coupon in free prints, I've already redeemed my $100 coupon and got them back as well. I think that since they are having uploader trouble MPT may be extending the offer, but I'm not real sure.

I'm so glad to hear this, I want to try them as soon as I have enough LO for a book. I probably should do it before the 31st to get that deal!

Prirority mail on each of my orders was $4.80, shipping seemed to be actual shipping charges which is wonderful. They offered fedex, ups, and usps, regular and expediated services. NO idea about international though.

I tried to go in and look but it's not working right now. I so want to get some prints. I have only ever done a few single ones here and there and I would LOVE to get some books done. I hope it gets back up and running before the end of the month so I can possible give it a go!

HEY DARCY! I know Sam's and Costco pretty much have the same print quality. You might want to check out this blog post I did: http://littlebitscrappy.blogspot.com/2008/07/photobook-wars.html

Pics don't print nearly as well, though the actual scrap stuff does look really nice. Pics end up printing grainy. Everyone at DST was accusing me of having bad files, but if you look at the same print from Costco and in my photobooks, Costco prints far better.

Same printing process for books and individual prints but the indiv. prints are thicker.

I remember you posting all that - which is why I'm really hesitant.

lol... yeah the MPT lady wasn't happy with me after she shipped me a new book and I said it printed the same... she seemed really mad. I didn't mean to hurt her business... and i doubt i did since there are like 20 new threads at DST every week about MPT and their single page prints.;)

I have been holding off printing my 75 + pages since I usually get mine done at Costco... but I simply can't afford to pay $2.99 for every 12x12, and $0.75is a great price, even if they charge $20 for shipping! So I think I'm going to have to try this, realizing that the quality is likely to be lower than what I'm used to because otherwise I'll never ever get mine printed!

I'm glad to hear some actual honest discussion and criticism here though! We don't have to love EVERYTHING! :p So thank you everyone for honest opinions. :)

Has anyone printed at both MPT and Scrapbook Pictures? I'm curious as to what the difference would be. I've been really happy with SBP so I'd have to be really convinced to try out MPT.

Well I live in the middle of now where, there are not Costco's near me and the nearest Sam's club is over an hour away. The few gifts I had printed were from Walmart and actually the finish is much to "glossy" for me. And since Sam's and Walmart are owned by the "same people" I don't think I'd like Sam's prints even if I had one near me.

They print on 100lb card stock using laser printers. I have 1 shutterfly book and 2 Viovio books and I have to say that these prints are probably nicer then both those. For me MPT is a great fit at a great price. As long as they send mr quality prints I'll stick with them!!! :D :D

I have no sams or costco near me either :( I cant justify spending the membership fee just for the scrap pages. I have tryed shutterfly and the photobooks I got were decent but I guess I will try everything once. Im particular to some extent but at this point I am looking for a good bargain with the economy being so icky.

Not trying to defend Sams in any way - but the Sams print are completely different. You can get matte..and the processing at my sams is spot on. Which is why I'm hesitant to try anyone else because I'm lucky to have a really good one LOL I"ve gotten the walmart ones in the past, and they aren't anywhere near as good.
