If you print 8x8", come in...

I've always been a 12x12" girl, but I think I've decided to make the switch.

Buuuuut, I'm a little worried about not being able to read my journaling.

If I'm journaling a lot, I use Century Gothic. I know a few of you use this font for journaling too... anyone have a clue if 14pt is big enough to read when printed at 8x8"?

If you print 8x8", what font do you normally use - and what point size?

Well, I have never really thought about what font to use to tell if it could be seen. I do print at 8x8, pages that I scrap at 12x12. Then I trim them, and often scrap them on a larger piece of paper. Last layout I used CK Inspiration, and you could read it just fine...but like I said, I don't really think about it, I don't journal usually, lol!
 
I print 8x8 all the time. What I do, is view my layout at 25%. If I can read it on screen, I can read it in print. And it really does depend on the font, because 14 pt in one font is not equivalent in another. And some fonts are just easier to read if they're a little larger, some are just as easy to read if theyr'e small (futura is one of them). So that's my test - how well does it read at 25% on my screen.
 
I scrap at 12x12 and print and 8x8. I've never had a problem reading any of my journaling. I use a variety of fonts and sizes. I do what Darcy does. I check to see if I can see it at 25% & adjust it up if I can't.
 
8x8 will be just fine.
I always scrapped 12x12 in my paper days and couldn't imagine doing smaller. Then when I saw the price of printing the 12x12 books I was like...hmmm...ok...maybe smaller is not so bad. I actually like them. You can throw them on the coffee table or whatever and I have no probs reading the journaling. If you can read it looking at the page on the computer screen it should be alright. Save the pages and print them at 7.9 just so your journaling or edges don't get cut off. Just in case ;)

yeah this is what I do too :)
 
I'm a former convert too! I have had NO problem with the journaling, in fact when I look at my 12x12 printed layouts the journaling seems gigantic!!!
 
I scrap in 12x12, but print in 8x8 and I use Century Gothic A LOT, like on most of my pages. :blink: I'm trying to branch out, but I just love the clean look of it. Anyway, I usually use 18 point font for journaling and I have no problem reading. I don't go as small as 14 for journaling. For smaller dates and things that I want to kind of hide on the page, I use 12.
 
This is great info!! I have always been worried about not being able to read my journaling once it is printed or it being waaay to big. Thanks girls!! :thumbup:
 
I totally overuse Darcy DJB Nicole font that one is fab it's still readable by my Nan (and she's got really bad eyesight) at 10pt lol. :thumbup: :thumbup:

ditto this! I've never had a problem reading my text printed after doing it this way :thumbup:
 
I sometimes print 8x8 and I haven't had any problems with any fonts 12 & larger, some I can go as small as 10. And I create at 12x12 and then print at 8x8.
