I so want to see this movie, have been counting down the days til it came out on tues, and we've been to every video store we can find, and it's still out! lol, everyone was out on tues evening when I first went, and I still can't find it. Not sure if it's gonna be worth the $20 to buy it, but I'm thinking maybe it is really good since everyone wanted to rent it! Anybody seen it, and is it good?? Are the effects cheesy, or cool? We're gonna hit all the rental places again today and dh says if it's not in, just buy it, but if it sucks I don't wanna spend the $$.

I was so excited to see it and I when I finally did I was so disappointed!!! I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't what I saw. The previews of the movie were very deceiving for me....I am the type that like movies like Day After Tomorrow, Dante's Peak, Deep Impact.........and I thought 10,000BC was gonna kind of be a movie like those and it wasn't.

However you might like it if you have a different perception of what the movie is gonna be like!!

Hope that helps!!!

I haven't seen it yet but was wondering what reviews were like. My mom told me she was dissapointed in it too but we didn't get to discuss why!

It was MUCH better at the theater with the big screen IMO
LOL, that's funny, I have this whole plan to camp on the couch with a blanket and dh, some snacks and watch it on our big screen! I'm pretty easy as far as liking movies(just saw Definately Maybe, and that's a fave now!!)-honestly, I've no clue what the 'story' is supposed to be and at first I only wanted to see it for the effects, big animals and such, but I saw a preview that made it out to look pretty good.

Hmmm, Sara, you've got me wondering about the dialouge now too, hadn't thought of that...

too funny. best buy has tons of them when i was there last night! everyone i know who saw this said it was not good. only had like 3 good scenes and they were the ones on the trailers. just a little tidbit.

everyone i talked to said not a good storyline and not really a lot of action like they thought. ya know...it looked kind of lord of the ringish and it was dull.

We got it from Netflix this week as soon as it released and watched it two nights ago, and my DH watched it again last night. I thought it was actually pretty good and that is usually not the kind of movie I go for! There is dialogue throughout the movie, mostly in English but for the parts not in English there is subtitles so you know what is being said (and there is also narration by Omar Shariff).

Hummm... I have to say I wasnt impressed. It was just ok at best and some of the storyline bothered me (ie wooly mammoths building the pyramids - just silly).

I agree, Spyderwick was the winner of the week rentals wise for us! It was AWESOME and captivating!

Thanks girls for all the input. I think I'll just go with renting instead of buying then. It's been too long since I've seen one of those movies that just is so awesome I can watch it over and over. Nothing's really blown me away recently. So HOPEfully I can find it in somewhere tonight!!!!
