What kind of glue

Do you use to glue to your chip board? How do you apply it? Silly i know, but do you just apply it in a smaller area and then squeegee it out with the roller? Or do you use the mod podge to glue?
Speaking of, what sort of mod podge do you prefer, gloss or matte?
I'm going to be putting together my recipe album for the monthly challenge soon and need a lot of suggestions, lol. How it turns out will probably determine if i do hybrid more often, so whatever you can offer in suggestions will be very much appreciated

I've seen that people use Modge Podge. But, do they use it for cardstock or actual photo paper?

I either use my Xyron Cheetah or Mod Podge to glue pages onto chipboard.

Definitely matte. The gloss is way too shiny imho.

My only other suggestion about the mod podge thing is to make sure you let everything dry really well before you apply any mod podge to the top to seal it. If you don't wait, it will smear the ink.

Hope that helps!

I use a Xyron Cheetah to glue the photo paper or cardstock to the chipboard - I run the glue onto the chipboard, and the push the paper onto it. Works like a charm!

I did try Modge Podge as the glue, but I am very impatient and didn't want to wait on it to dry overnight. I do like Modge Podge for sealing, though (although it took me a few tries to get good at it), and I like the matte.

My tips for Modge Podge... use a medium sized foam brush, and apply it in very thin layer(s). I normally do 2 layers. And be sure to let it sit overnight to dry before you do anything else to it! I am guilty of trying to rush the process, which ends in Modge Podge everywhere, fingerprints in my projects, and me being very annoyed!! LOL.

Good luck! Can't wait to see your project!

I'm so hesitant to try sealing with Modge Podge, because I have a habit of being impatient and I don't want to do all that work and then ruin the album when I'm sealing! I have some though, so many I should practice on some spare peices of chipboard that I have.

I LOVE Tombow adhesives Pam :)

Size usually determines my adhesive choices.
For larger or more blocky shapes (like the Jack album for the recipe book this month) I use my 2" Xyron Cheetah (I can't find the dang 4", lol). Around the hole for the chain and at the edges, I use my Tombow tape runner for a really good seal.

For small shaped projects I just use the tombow tape runner.
For larger shapes, like a box, I use a thin layer of mod podge. I haven't used it in a while though, I'm pretty partial to the cheetah and tape runner.

I don't usually seal things because I don't have small kids messing with them. But you definitely want to let it all sit for a good while before you try and seal it.

I haven't sealed anything with mod podge yet because I only have the glossy and can't find the matte anywhere.
I use 3m photo mount spray or this purple permanent glue tape runner thingamajigger I picked up for 5 bucks at wal mart. So far so good.

I use ModPodge Matte and a foam brush to adhere papers to chipboard. You only need a thin coat and it doesn't take long to dry at all. I've never had any ink smear. I used to use the Mod Podge to seal, but I didn't like how much the brush strokes showed up in it or that it gets tacky in humidity. I recently tried Delta Ceramcoat's Satin Interior Varnish for sealing. I've used it twice now with good results. It is thinner than the ModPodge and doesn't show the brush strokes as much (they are still there though). It dries really quickly too!

I've also use the Cheetah tape runner and I just don't feel it adheres the paper all around the edges as nicely as the ModPodge does. It is all just personal preference though!

Good luck with your project!

Wish i'd have read this again before my shopping trip to Hobby Lobby today, lol.
I got the glossy Mod Podge, of course :p I did get tombow tape, but I'm not investing in a cheetah unless I get really involved in the hybrid things.
I got some foam brushes, color box chalk inks and exacto knife blades, as well as some mini glue dots.
I can always take back the mod podge, but i'm still confused as to how to seal those edges, lol. I've no idea which way to go with that one.
