Omg I just found Ali Edwards!

Thanks a frikkin lot Col! She's my first RSS feed EVER! I was like omg omg this one needs to be saved! Where do I...I went to bookmarks...and this thing said RSS feed. I was like a-ha!

And now I soooo am making a frikkin mommy book! ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY GENIUS! And the brownie points post from daddy? MY GOD! NEVER ENDING GENIUS and yet I swear the simplest seeming IDEAS!!

This comment on the brownie points blog:

Fabulous! Here’s another one, when my kids were little I had this journal, which was filled with completely empty pages……..but not empty to a mother’s eyes. Whenever we would run up against an issue with which they disagreed, such as bedtime, or bathtime, we would have to turn to page (insert random number here) and read from the wisdom of the mommy book…….worked like a charm everytime! Only four or five years ago, when my daughter was nine, and we were sorting things into boxes in the basement, and came across the mommy book did the question finally arise, “Mom, am I old enough to read the writing in the book yet?” “Nope, only wise mommies ( and sometimes daddies)can see what is written.” Silence……..and then, “When I grow up and am a mommy, can I be the one who gets the book?” yep, it’s priceless stuff….good for you, Jeff…….an imaginative dad ( and mom like Tara!) are the greatest gifts you can give your lucky children!

And now I am desparate to get a composition book and decorate the cover and leave the pages blank. The mommy book! What a grand IDEA!!!! He's only comin on 7 months right now, but can you imagine?

Page 12 here says, and I quote, you need to give mommy her kisses. See, it says so right her---oh darn I forgot, it's magic, only I can read it, but trust me it says it...

Oh and maybe get that really messy glitter and just lightly dust the whole book for effect? I have all these ideas just READY!! OMGsh!

That is, if I ever stop reading Ali's blog!!!
Grrrrr!

You guys are always givin me this time wasting virus!

i love her stuff too!!!

Yup, welcome to Ali-land. :) She's amazing. Last weekend I went to Creating Keepsakes University in Houston and took her Evolution class- gotta say, she's even more amazing in person and actually touching her albums put a whole different spin on them- I'm more inspired by her than ever before. :) Have fun reading and creating!

She had some really cool ideas...but then I was like wait...this isn't...what??? Let me run and grab that link. It's a pretty good blog too! Lol.

Not sure HOWI ended up there! Haha

If I won a million dollars, I'd have Tara take my photo and then pay Ali to scrap it in some cute complicated random hybrid album. :)

P.S. Ali Edwards is the first person I ever saw with a digital scrapbook page posted over at 2Peas and I thought, 'Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey. I could do that.'

So since we're talking CK girls, how about that Cathy Z. have you ever noticed that woman can take a couple of pictures, stick them on cardstock, add a title and some journaling and get published in a magazine? I'm way bitter. Probably has something to do with her amazing photography skills. :(

Hahahahaha I'm totally with ya Kellie :)
Maybe one of these days I'll submit something to CK

*lol* IKWYM, Kellie. Sometimes, things in the scrapping world seem so unfair.

Cathy's style is definitely not ground-breaking, but it does stand out from most of the current trendiness & I think her personality and sense of humor makes up for anything she might lack. :) I fully admit to reading her blog regularly and chuckling out loud.

It's all abt who you know, and I think CZ knew all the right people at the right time. Now that she has a following, she's golden.

When I first started scrapping, CZ was my hero! Her pages were so uncomplicated, yet stylish. Of course, I didn't (still don't LOL!) have her photography skills, or the dosh to drop on fonts. But it showed me the light out of the CM abyss. They don't do as much for me now. But LA and Kellie are right - it's who you know and when you know them!

I admit that I am still in the hero worship stage of Ali Edwards. I'm so jealous that you got to take her class Teresa! When my dh & I made plans for last weekend, I forgot that CKU was here in Houston (how stupid is that :doh!) For me, her Life Artist book has been so inspiring for me! It really has changed my outlook on scrapping.

Col, you'll love Stacy J's library system. I took the class at BPS the first time it was offered. Her system (with minor tweaks) works really well with the way I feel. And since I don't like scrapping chronologically...OY! Match made in heaven! LOL!

So, Ashley - welcome to the wonderful world of blog reading! It's a great source of inspiration! :D

Yea my biggest thing right now, is that I don't have ANY pictures from the last few years printed. I just printed as I went, which I can tell is NOT the way for me to go in terms of traditional scrapping.

I'm taking Stacy's "Have More Fun" class this summer and I'm excited. I've never taken a scrappin class of any kind before, so it'll be a new experience. I'm working on getting my pics loaded up to walgreens or somewhere and getting them printed so I can REALLY start LOM. And I hate chronologically scrappin too so it's a match for me too. I still tend to scrap my most recent things, but I DEF don't care if I "miss" an event or something, you knwo?

ok - so I am a total newbie to scrap blog reading - so hook me up - what is her blog site??? I cant seem to find the link in the posts

I *heart* Ali, I have been getting CK for years and love reading her articles!!!! It is about the only thing I actually read in the magazine!!!!
