I put this on the other thread but I thought it bears repeating:

DUDES Karah just told me that MSN does screenshots AND tabbed chatting like hello....why aren't we doing that?

It accepts yahoo contacts too
 
yup! at our house (maybe just due to the intra-networking thing we have going) we can share desktops - even see when the other person is typing)
 
OK, I have Yahoo IM already but not sure if I have Windows LIVE..I will investigate further..be back soon!!!
 
msn is the only IM I have, so it would really work well with my natural lazy tendencies if that's what everyone ended up using!
 
really? I killed msn forever ago (well really.. my computer killed it :D :D ) like a year ago, I'll have to re-install and see.
 
Finally,lol. You'll have to open your screenshots up from the prompt on the screen. I don't know how Hello worked with that. There aren't tabs per se for each person. For multiple people in a conversation they need to be invited in, otherwise it's just person to person.
Hopefully folks will try this. I know I'm not looking forward to having to dl a new kind of messenger service :mellow:
 
Hi girls! Actually, you have to install the Windows Live Messenger AND the other links that Amanda posted - and after you install those you will have the option to have tabbed chat windows for each person you're chatting with. I don't *think* you can send screenshots when you're in a group chat - we tried and it didn't work, but it may have been us doing something wrong.

It has some really cool features - like if you choose to send your active window, it has a countdown (you can set the time) and it gives you a few seconds to choose which window you want as your active window. You can also select what you want to send (as in draw a box around something with your mouse). I've been messing around with it all afternoon and don't have quite everything figured out but if you post questions here I'll check and see if I've figured it out yet LOL
 
Just FYI, even though you can download contacts from other message services (yahoo, i think aol, etc.) the yahoo users can't use the same features as you - so basically it's just a simple IM with them. You can't share pictures (I don't think) and you can't do the screen shots.
 
I have always loved MSN, so this makes me excited, that I might be able to go back to ONE messengera again!

I've had this for ages but I never knew there was a screenshot feature lol I still don't know how to do that though lol so any tips appreciated greatly. Hugs Crystal xx
 
I posted this on the other thread but I'll post it here too!!!

Did you all know that if you go uinder Users CP and click edit profile it has a place to list what messiging programs you have:

ICQ Number
AIM Screen Name
MSN Messenger Handle
Yahoo! Messenger Handle
Skype Name

When those are filled out I think it will then show the little "icon" up under your post count and then to add someone all you have to do is click that little icon (I think :D). Maybe that will help some of you!!!
 
Thanks, Elizabeth! That's great to know, but it says I have to be in IE for it to work. And I hate IE these days. :( But i did add you manually, that's how cool I think you are. ;)
