So I admit that I am an Idol virgin. Tonight was the first time I watched it. And David Cook just gave me a chill. Why didn't anyone tell me it was this good?
 
Oh just wait til he sings a song that is actually in his signature rock genre & you will really see how awesome he is!!

Also anyone else actually LOL at Archie singing Chris Brown?? Oh my gosh that was hilarious! So not his best song choice lol!!
 
David C made me cry with his first song.
David A is a tiny tool. He cannot do contemporary. PUKE!
 
That was absolutely amazing!!! That has to be one of my fave songs ever anyway (it was the very last song we danced to before leaving our wedding reception so it will always be special to me) and he rocked it!!! David C definitely was the best tonight!
 
LOL @ tiny tool. I call him "wet noodle" but tiny tool is better. I always feel compelled to say "bless his heart" afterwards though, lol.
 
OMG I was reduced to tears TWICE. I hate to say it, while he did rock the Switchfoot, I wasn't THAT crazy about it, but hey it was DC so I loved it anyway, rofl
but I am listening to FTEISYF on you tube and it's so much better than I even thought it was!
 
I missed his first song (sniff sniff) because of a power outage but got to see most of song #2 and all of #3 and I LOVED them both. Headed over to You Tube to watch it now though. If DC does not win I will be VERY upset !!!
 
Just got done watching and I am woMAN enough to admit I had a little tear and a BIG chill too!!! JUST AMAZING that guy is!!!!
 
I actually really like David A. Do I think he is the best performer? No. But, he's 17 and he's really a sweet little guy. Yes, he is for real. Yes, guys are really that sweet here in Utah. Come on Utah girls, back me up here. As soon as I heard him talk I thought to myself, "He's GOT to be from Utah." NOT the kind of guy for me, but a good little guy. This will probably get me strung up here... but I really think that David A should win American Idol.

Now, before you all banish me from the forums let me explain my thinking. David Cook really is the better performer. If he gets voted off tomorrow, I am 99.9% sure that he will get a record deal immediately and I would guess that his ROCK career will take off and he'll be a huge success. If he wins American Idol, he is tied up with AI stuff for a year and he'll perform and release an album, but he will be forever tied to this show! And in 20 years when everyone makes fun of the show, he'll be one the AI winners. It really wouldn't surprise me if he was a bit relieved if he got voted off.

David A is a cute sweet little guy who will do a great job on the AI tour for the next year. He has major appeal with the young girls and their parents because he is a clean kid. And let's face it, that's the majority of people who buy tickets to the tour. It makes better sense for the show. And the girl... I don't think she has a chance. She's got a good voice, but I really don't think she appeals to a wide enough audience. But I was suprised last year, so who knows?!
 
Total goosebumps on DC's last song. It was predictable in a sense, but the song already totally rocks, so I don't know how he could have improved it. But those notes at the end...wow!

And yes, Archie should win 'AI' so he can go on tour with Hannah Montana and be in a Disney special with Jamie-Lyn once she pops out that kid.
 
I have to admit for the first time I did not enjoy a David A performance. I always said he could sing the phonebook but last night I was proven wrong! LOL!

I totally agree that David Cook like Daughtry should not win because I think he will do much better on his own but on the other hand look at Carrie Underwood. I didn't even like her on AI and she is one of my favorite artists now so I could be totally wrong. I have been buying all of DC's Itunes songs and only have bought a couple of DA's.

I have loved David A since the beginning, and in the grand scheme of things he really is what the show is all about "American Idol" if you get technical. But no one really takes that into consideration so I have no clue how this will pan out but I would be very happy if either one of them won.

Now as for Sayesha, what on earth was she thinking doing that Fever song? She wasn't in a bar she was performing for mostly young kids! Hello? I think she's got a great voice and is a very pretty girl but that was just as bad as DA trying to sing that boo song! LOL!
 
So I had to go watch some of the songs on youtube, just to be "in the know". And I LOVE that Switchfoot song, always have.

It totally disappoints me that they only to a minute of the songs (I never watch the show, and rarely pay attention, but the Idol FEVAH in this place is insane :p). I would rather they made it a 2 hour show, or hour and a half, and let them really SING the songs. 1 minute of Dare You to Move is so not enough.
 
Good call, Col. I soooooo love that Switchfoot song (and Switchfoot in general), and he rocked it HARD.
 
I need to look up Switchfoot's new stuff. I haven't really watched them to see what they've done since their first cd (which was like ages ago, and I suck for not pay attention).

Seriously, 1 minute of Roberta Flack? Like, wtf? LET THEM SIIIIIIIIIING!

UGH, this is why I hate this show, LOL!

I totally agree. They should have just got 2 songs each so they could really sing the songs. I mean, David C just got into "I Dare You To Move" and it ended!! He didn't even get a really good chance to rock it. Ugh.

Oh, and what irked me too was Randy. Seriously... he was negative to everyone last night. He was totally trashing the song choices, and 2 of the songs they had to sing weren't even their choice! Stupid. On the other hand, I was happy to see that Paula actually broke out of her sugar coated candy shell to tell Syesha that her performance basically sucked. Ha!
