I quit my job!

AND IT FELT GOOD!

I had been trying to work out a telecommuting arrangement with my boss after I was told that it was possible. Well weeks had gone by and all I get was the runaround so a month ago I finally gave him my notice. It was the CRAZIEST THING I've ever done as I didn't have an official job offer then.

My family and I decided that it was time to get out of this expensive area and move six hours away and live in a home that we can afford to own and be closer to our DD's grandparents. Better quality of life. Once I took away how much $$$ I was turning away with my current job and focused on the intangibles and what's most precious to me, the decision was not so hard after all. YEAY!!!!

Oh yeah, I did get that job offer at the price I wanted relative to the position that I applied for. Another YEAY!!! We move in less than two weeks a day after my last day at work.

Sounds like some positive moves, Yay for you and your family good luck w/everything ;)

Congrats! Sounds like everything's working out perfectly! Have fun, and don't forget to scrap all these wonderful new moments!

You ladies are sweet indeed! Thanks for all the well wishes! Now if I can just kick off this short-timers disease then two weeks wouldn't be soooo long of a wait!:p

Congrats! Good thing everything worked out in the end. You wouldn't happen to live in the bay area, CA, do you? My MIL is trying to get us to move closer to them. They're ~1.5 hr away, but we could get a bigger house for cheaper. Problem is selling what we have now with the bad market. Ugh! Good luck with your move, hope it goes smoothly!

Sam, I live in the Central Coast, paradise to some, but a burnt hole in my pocket even with two decent earners. The prices have come down a bit, but not a whole lot where we wanted to live in this area. We wanted one of us to be home with our DD so that wasn't gonna work out. We needed both of us to work to keep a home here.

I hear ya, I live next to Oakland and prices are crazy. My MIL keeps telling us of all these bigger newer houses in davis/sac area that will fit all 5 of us, but I work in Fremont and DH doesn't want to live that close to his parents.
