my husband and I were invited to an ugly Christmas sweater party this year. problem is we live in Florida and I don't know where to find him an ugly Christmas sweater. you ladies are always a great source of info, where can I find one for my husband? I'd prefer not to pay a lot since it's probably a one time wear.

online has a ton but they are $$. I've been meaning to look at some thrift stores but haven't found the time. Walmart??

I would DIY it. :) Pick any simple cheap sweater in Christmas colors (maybe from Walmart?) and if you have simple sewing skills (or a hot glue gun... or even safety pins for that matter) you can accessorize the crap out of it. Attach some LED lights to it (I saw some LED christmas light necklaces at Publix the other day), jingle bells, tinsel, gaudy trims & ribbons, cheap christmas plush toys, etc. There's lots of ideas on the internet for DIY's. :)

We went to one last year (invited to the same one this year) and all the siblings of the host had sweaters with the host's picture on it. It was so funny. :)

I don't think I even wore one last year since we had another party to go to. But I agree with the DIY thing. :)

rotfl... I hope it's actually COLD the day of the party. I don't think I could dress up for that... ugh! I love this time of year because the weather is so mild. I don't wanna bundle up. LOL!

Get a green sweater, wrap garland around it, and pin some jingle bells on. Nicole makes good point, though, so maybe make it a sweater vest. ;) I wouldn't have worn a full sweater when I lived in FL either.

I wish someone would invite me to an ugly sweater party! It sounds like so much fun!!! :D

PS, Nicole, this is me: :D

Target released a line of Ugly Sweaters this year in both the men's and women's department. No clue if the line is still being sold, because in Target's time frame, it's just about time for swimwear. :P

Our Target here never even put away the swimwear. It's still right out at the front of the store. :D

LOL! That pic is hilarious... and what all my friends are like. We had some people over to the house last weekend and I noticed all the ladies had boots on. I thought, "Guess you want to wear them while you can, huh?" LOL! That's not me though... at all, even though I was born in Ft. Lauderdale and spent most of my life here! Before I moved up north, the only warm thing I had was a hoodie. I had to buy my first coat at 23. LOL! And now... my mother tries to hand down coats to me and I'm like, "Please, mom... I have one coat that I don't even use. I'm good." She, on the other hand, is bundled up at 70--and she grew up in NYC! :D

Love the idea to make our own, then they can be really hideous!! The sweatshirt and the boots when it's 70 thing is so true! I wore a sweater today and I think it was 80 out.

The party is indoors, but I'm going to go with a cardigan so if I get too hot I can take it off.

Jenn - I think I"ll have to find some time to head over there and see what they have - I know the shop you are talking about. So glad to have a local friend looking out for me!
