I've been redoing some layouts

It's not my normal practice, and once I print a layout, I rarely go back and redo it. But recently I realized that I failed to print A. SINGLE. LAYOUT. FROM. 2008. And I'm the caught up on printing type.

So I decided that since I only had a handful of layouts left to do to complete the album, I would have them printed in a bound book.

Only once I went back and looked at my layouts from 2008, I realized something had to be done. Take this, for instance:

I think I figured that since there weren't enough bright colors on the page, I would splash some paint & puke some sprinkles all over it.

Clearly, there were several pages that could not be allowed to see the light of day. So I've redone maybe five or six, but my most favorite one is this one. I hated both of the layouts with the 2 separate sets of photos from my BIL's trip to visit us, so I took the best of these terrible photos & turned it into one layout. THAT. I. LOVE.

It's not like the old ones were puke face, not totally, but they just didn't make me happy. The new one TOTALLY makes me happy! And I needed to share my happiness with someones who understand! Thanks for listening. : )
 
Very nice redo! I tend to be caught up on printing and don't redo layouts either, but I can definitely see not wanting to pay to print LOs that make you cringe.
 
OMGsh. The new page is gorgeous. It's funny how time passes and we can dislike our work... but I doubt you'll ever come back to that new one and think anything is wrong with it. :D
 
I am definitely not caught up on printing...maybe I should take a look see through last year's stuff lol :thumbup: Your new lo is just beautiful! I love the pop of yellow!

totally made ME happy too, have to add! and thank YOU for sharing it! :wub:

and have to say that I'm thinking in redo some pages too! The real reason is that I only have ONE album with 20 random pages and that's so not cool to a scrapper/designer! but I only have that album because I don't like some of my old pages, even loving my photos... So, maybe redo is the key!
 
I redid some of the pages from when Nicholas was a baby, too. I was behind then and didn't want to print some of the more terrible ones. I get it. Those are great improvements.
 
Love your redo! I do this all the time with LOs I have not printed yet. I will look back through just to see if they are any pages I just would not print.
 
I am in the process of some "re-dos" as well. I just felt that they were LO's that were done when perhaps my scrapping was not the best - but now - they make me smile - and I am so much happier with them. I don't think it's wrong to re-do LO's at all! Happy re-scrapping!!

I liked your old ones, but love the new layouts! And I get the re-doing them, too. I have a bunch of old (like from the late 90's) paper layouts (in the CM style) that I plan on completely re-doing. And I have one old paper layout that I re-did digitally, and am still not happy with it, so will be doing again. I'm okay with that, though. :)
